There is no reason not to prosecute.

I agree
It is quite disgusting.

The 'timing' reasons are that they want this to all drop during 2020 and the election cycle. For 3 years it has been Trump/Russia and now when the truth as to what happened drops the DNC is going to be ripped apart and a former president and vice president running will have to respond to why this happened.

The only way this could have all moved forward is with the approval of Obama.

This is another way of saying we have you....and the bigger crimes are coming. Have faith. When you move to fast mistakes are made.

I find my lack of faith in this disturbing....

Well, it's out in the open and exposed, that's the least I had hoped for.

This means, it's sourceable in relevant discussions, in my opinion, that in itself is powerful and damning.

We also must take care in that there is much more information coming out with Comeys fingerprints all over.

Comeys mistake is celebrating early and thinking the American people are stupid with his ridiculous tweets, which are currently being scrutinized and reminding him of his flagrant violations.

We must also remember that he is FIRED, warranted of course and now justified in this IG report. He is a broken man and exposed as a fraud and traitor to the United States of America.

Let's wait to see what else we get.

So much has already been out in the open

What does that matter?

The media will act like it’s not a big deal, no one will be punished, and nothing will change.

Criminals in the intel community will continue to be above the law and influence our elections more than Russia ever could, and the majority of people will forget about this story in a week, or think it’s no big deal because no one was arrested

Heck the usual crowd will be all over the media and even ats saying “see comey didn’t break any laws!”

Even comey himself is bragging right now!

If trumps doj let’s this slide, he deserves all of the attacks he will receive here on out from the intel community

imo were there no special council the house would not have flipped for the 18 midterms
imo comey himself was responsible for the special council

Like most DOJ IG Reports, this one was shown to Comey's lawyers/Comey several weeks ago. They were given the opportunity to offer rebuttals to anything they felt was inaccurate.

Of course if and when they decide to prosecute, the left will scream about political prosecutions and dictatorship.

Fun times.

There are 3 more IG/DOJ investigations underway. At least one of them will prove you correct.

The reason we have a justice system, is to ensure that the People don't take the law into their own hands. In treating the illegal actions by Comey, Hillary, and Barack, in this manner, they are willfully giving up their own relevancy, and worth. They are inviting a return to the days of Anarchy

This is exactly why I feel they are taking this slow. Can you imagine the media when Barr decides to actually charge these people?

If, and when, Obama is brought into this also the RACISM!!!!! card will be a neutron bomb on the MSM.

Also, is there a way now that we would know if Comey has flipped and is cooperating? May be why he is acting the way he is.

The DOJ has an opportunity here to restore faith in its department. If they sweep this all under the rug, the trust will be damaged permanently. For the sake of this country, I hope justice is served.

One of the problems though is the justice system is politicized... And I'm not saying one side has equity, but rather both sides negate each other's actions so it's harder to go after one without going after all of them.

Take Hillary's email scandal for instance (which was illegal), she got the advice on how to do that from Colin Powell. Even the Bush admin had ways to insulate themselves from the Freedom of Information Act, and even went so far as to wipe their emails before leaving.

If we want true justice and transparency, we'll have to admit that the whole political landscape is corrupt, and must be torn and rebuilt.

One of Andy McCabe's lawyer buddies said he expects McCabe to be indicted. So at least we still have that to look forward to.

First, he wrote the memos on government furnished equipment (GFE). Those memos belong to the Government and are not his to distribute as he sees fit. Second, even if he wrote them on his computer, he still doesn't have the freedom to release information about ongoing matters. Third, memos are not evidence. This seems to be a new trend with him and Rice writing down stories of a whimpy kid. None of it can be proven. Just stories. If it was evidence, everyone would be doing it.

He also didn't release any memos when he had issues with Lynch and her calling it a "matter". He said that statement by her bothered him. Ok. Then why not write a memo. He didn't, which shows this guy has zero integrity. We are suppose to believe his memos but where is the ones on Lynch because as he said, it troubled him.

Oh, and the most critical point, he said there was a damning email by Lynch. Where is that email. Why not release it and get an investigation started on her. Hoping Barr makes an example out of him but he likely won't which is messed up because there is no deterrent to keep this from happening all over again.

On a side note... I really hope they can do this in a timely matter before 2020.

We as voters have the right to know what happened in detail so we can make our decisions accordingly.

Seriously? Comey's going to gloat because the report says that Comey didn't directly release the memos to the media? He's already publicly stated that he gave it to a "friend" (Ben Wittes) to release to the media. Just because Wittes wasn't his attorney at the time of the release (even though he is now) doesn't make Wittes innocent, or Comey for that matter. This tweet will come back to bite Comey in the butt.

Comey is documented to be a liar and intentionally withheld information and a leaker in the OIG Report. He's living in a fantasy world.

Oh yeah, he vouched for the Steele Docs as verified material to use in the FISA Apps and signed off on them literally.

That's the real crime that will do him in.

Here is the actual IG report on Comey where they find that he violated FBI policy by releasing his memos to his friend.

He can be fired for breaking "policy" or reprimanded or written up. Thing is policy is not law. To give an example, police policy is to give their name and badge number when requested. It isn't a law so if the fail to do so which has happened on numerous occasions the department can reprimand them in some way, but usually don't.

If all they have is policy violations there will be nothing to prosecute.
