Verse 66 is a quote from Psalm 118:22–23. Many writers of the New Testament used this Psalm to sum up their understanding of Jesus' death as part of his role as the messiah. It is notable that the Hebrew word for son, ben, is almost the same as stone, 'eben, which might be what generated seeing Jesus as a stone. Since the synoptics state Jesus said this in the Temple, this could reflect their view of Jesus as replacing the function of the Temple, bringing God's presence to humanity.

Interesting that both reference a stone rejected, but Psalm 118:22–23, and Acts 4:11, essentially that same verse Old and New Testament state the the stone rejected will become the cornerstone.

Not to pick nits, but the cornerstone and keystone are functionally different.

Cornerstone is foundational, be it Christ, or Peter, whom Jesus called his rock upon which he will build his church (rough transtaltion because I'm funtionlly lazy tonight).

Anyway, keystone sort of stuck out as being different than I remember that verse referencing in the officiated version of the Bible I'm familiar with.

ETA: Given the difference in meaning of key- vs cornerstone I wonder why the difference if one or more of gospels is derived from the book of Q-Thomas.

Thoughts so far:

ii) m appears x3 (mixed cases) so multiply by occurrences then add occurrences...e,g, 13x3+3=42 = Seconds in timestamp.

Haha. I'm not sure.

I was thumbing through a file of Bohemin Grove pictures I have, and that one was sticking its tounge out at me.

I believe they are Redwoods in the grove.

The picture date loos like 1904 to me, although there is a strange peak on top of the zero.

CoramDeo, the post about old words for Son and Stone being similar... Ben/Eben got me thinking.

What if the foundation stone is the founding father of a family.

It is also a cornerstone because it joins 2 sides (families) together.

The son, or latest generation son, is the Keystone because it holds together all the founding generations under/before it who nurture it to heights from their solid base of experience and position?

The Arch also represents a genealogy or family tree... the further you go back in generations the further apart the families stones are but they are all held together by the Keystone.

Ergo the Keystone is children?

Make my Day

Just want to say a thank you to Cranky before going to bed ....and a bit of a rant.

I had been stressed all day with the half truths of the media. CNN, NBC, ABC which I only saw the lead in statements were all excerpted to frame a biased impression on the audience...turned them off immediately cause I had read the transcript.

A post I saw from Cranky, several pages back brought things into perspective and actually calmed me.

Still, these out of context comments affect many.

Where is the senate in all of this? The usual pro trump rep's spoke out but the only person in the senate who said anything was anti Trump Romney.

Where was Grassley and Graham? One could say they were taking their time but the transcripts are clear, at least too me and are nothing compared to what Dems have done just since 2018.

Are they just being cautious or have the been compromised (threatened).

The esoteric info here also helps. Grateful to all who contribute. Suspect lots of lurkers are as well
