You know there's a word for when the government tries to control private companies means of production..

Commu.. Communis...

Dang I forgot.

Communism is when the govt owns the means of production. i.e state ownership.
It's actually Fascism where the govt controls private company decisions through hyper regulation and control. Facism is also known by another name in modern times - Progressivism (which is actually how the original fascists movements were referrred to)

So please link to me the law that was passed, the EO that was signed, the law that was changed?

Or are you one of those silly people that think that a tweet is somehow now a law, according to a panel of experts at CNN?

Christ wept.. it's no wonder the Democratic party is such a mess.

Their cult followers appear to be incapable of critical thinking.

/facepalm

I agree with you. His words don't mean anything. And it also bring a smile to my face to know that every MAGA hat is made in China.

It only costs a few extra pennies to get that label sewn on in China. I make sure it's on all the crap I sell to gullible right wingers.

You're right. Trump is being a fascist and not a communist.

I admit I was wrong.

Surprise surprise a country reacts to tariffs but on it's goods by imposing reciprocal tariffs and Trump flips his lid.

He seems to be getting worse.

Let me guess. If you were President you would just let them win. You wouldn't even try to put the U.S. first.

Trump is doing what should have been done a long time ago. Honestly, I don't think he is making big enough moves. Drop corporate tax rate for US companies that keep their manufacturing local to like 1%. Any company that wants to ship jobs overseas, screw 'em and they can pay the 30% or whatever and get ZERO US support legally or anything else.

At the same time, bust the unions so our American companies remain competitive.

It will be painful initially, but if the right moves are made, US corps will bring jobs back to the US. The American public needs to wake up. We don't need that cheap Chinese stuff.

Everyone huh? lol. You really need to research that. Even if what you said was true, which it isn't, Trump would be putting Country before Company. He must really love his country. Would you like to change your mind now?

Well, Trump can't order them from stopping trade with China, but he can say that these companies need to start looking for alternative replacements for what they purchase there.

I do not think his word order was appropriate, but it is Trump and he does say some stuff wrong on occasion...like twice a week in tweets. We need to start making products here in America again, that is the reason for the tariff, to make it easier for American Companies to be competative, so we can create more stable jobs for Americans. The stability of our economy is not very good because we have become a consumer based economy. We have to manufacture more of what we use. Not many countries allow what is happening in the USA to occur. Of course, the main European countries want to sell their products to America and other countries, and make sure they keep a good manufacturing base in their country so they can gain stability in their countries.. Some of those countries that are gullable are exporting their wealth to other European countries that are trying to control everything. Most European countries put tariffs on imports.

His radical ideas could have worked when Perot brought them up 20+ years ago, its way too late to go there now. The world is globally connected now and will move on with or without the United States participation. Trump is headed to his 5th bankruptcy, too bad we all have to go down with him.

Please explain how imposing tariffs and starting a trade war with a country like China that will harm your economy is putting your country first.

American tech companies need Rare Earth materials , China has Rare Earth materials which is why American companies use Chinese companies.
Get ready for price rises.
