If a vet is COMPLETELY AND PERMANENTLY disabled, I don't have an issue with their student loans being forgiven.

I think people who serve (particularly in war zones) should be afforded some benefits that us civilians aren't going to get. Those wounded even more so.

Why does it matter? As immoral as most of those wars they fought in are, it's kept the average citizen the ability to continue with their consumerist crap in plastics, and drive large pick ups and SUVs.
Freedom comes at a cost, little do people know the cost of what getting even just a smartphone probably costs around the planet, and it includes US vets.

So I'm assuming by the amount of virtue signalling in your post that you are replying to the OP on your hemp-based device that is hydro powered with none of that icky eco-damaging battery technology?

/facepalm.

To the OP, good move, Mr President.

Keep em coming.

Nope. Its literal, to the person I was replying to.

Did you miss the part where I recognize where my stuff come from? And where I said does it matter what the cost of forgiving student debts to vets is a bad thing?

I think you went on a little bit of a guilt trip there...

Don't be so easily fooled.

He's just doing this because he's a white nationalist and he's trying to distract you.

He is evil, he has literally never done anything good, we must resist.

I thought he was an Orange nationalist.

This is great for disabled veterans.
But I thought there were already programs for disabled vets to get free college education.
I don't know first hand but has anyone else heard of that?

We have post 911 GI bill and it is extremely good, but there could be other debt and you only get it if you were in the service after 911 for XX number of months.

Is this actually any different?

The op and link are lacking details... But from what I can gather, Trumps not actually removing student debt from people who weren't previously eligible... His simply just making it "easier" for disabled vets to apply.

He could go a step further and make it if you sign up for lets say 6-10 year stint then your student loans will be forgiven. A win win situation you get a educated military.

Depending on where and when you served the GI bill for us old farts may not have covered everything, or could be officers that joined through OTS after they got a degree and then got injured.

Good move I think.

I'm for this type of student loan forgiveness, not forgiving the debt of someone that chose gender studies. Makes sense too, since I believe if you become disabled you are discharged.

Good job Mr. President!

Thank you, Mr. President.

How differently you show your live for our country (right or wrong sometimes) versus what the last person displayed. Earlier today I came across this quote from Obama. This quote is Obama's legacy:

Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...
During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".
Senator Obama replied :
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."
Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It’s my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we,as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails, perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments".
When I Become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag
and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past".
"Of course now,
I have found myself about to become The President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside . I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path . My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family. Indeed , CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America."

Veterans gets paid tuition to state schools and some other trades. It's not free. They earned it. No disabled Veteran should have student loans. Not even sure why they have student loans in the first place.

And disabled does not mean they served in combat. Hardly anyone is disabled from actual combat. Probably something like 1% or less or something stupid low.

Nice gesture but as a disabled combat Veteran from a suicide bomber I do not need it. I used my GI BILL. No student debt or any other form of debt.

He should just decree that student loans are able to be discharged through bankruptcy, just like it use to be.

He's in the entertainment industry which is very volatile. Casinos, hotels...if the economy sucks anyone in that business is going to drown every single time. The government understands this aspect of business. Most people do not. If the corporation he is in can't file guess what; nobody is going to invest in anything involving entertainment, restaurants, theme parks. It wrecks the economy even further. Now that that economy is better new businesses are sprouting up. I guess you don't like that and would rather go back to farming with cows and plows. You can absolutely do that. Move to a third world country and they will make it reality.

I work in the oil industry and understand what a renewable resource means. No guilt trip there at all.

As far as your military whine, I personally think that the USA should conscript anyone able at the age of 18 for a 2 year tour. Those too stupid or too weak should be given 2 years of community service.

That way when they start whining about their country they can at least be able to do it with the background of having given something back to it.

And BTW... thank you THANK YOU Canada for Trudeau.

His policies have allowed me to buy Nat Gas equipment at pennies on the dollar to make clean energy here in the US by essentially banning it in Canada.

Of Course some Lefties on here will eventually Argue that Disabled Vets should Not be Entitled to such Special Treatment by Government Even After putting their Personal Lives on the " Line " and Suffering Physical and Mental Wounds for their Beloved Service to OUR Country , Only Future Democrat Voting Illegal Foreign Nationals should be the Only Ones Treated in such a Compassionate Fashion According to these Traitorous Bunch ? ..............
