Hello ATS. I've been checking the NOAA site and I'm seeing an alarming trend concerning global heat records. The last ten years have been seeing records or near heat records. This isn't normal, and with an ever increasing Global population, things will only get worse.

www.noaa.gov...
www.noaa.gov...
www.noaa.gov...

What should be done? It's normal to have heat records broken every now and then; in fact, those records were broken every 13 years or so. However, at present, heat records are broken every 3 years on average according the the Noaa site.

The global land and ocean temperature during the three-month period of September–November has increased at an average rate of +0.07°C (+0.13°F) per decade since 1880; however, the average rate of increase is twice as great since 1980.

Here is a graph of this year vs previous years:

I'll tell you what isn't the answer:
raising my taxes and using that money to make it harder for me to afford gasoline.

What might help is discouraging rampant breeding.
There are far too many useless mouth breathers roaming this planet.

What's the problem with breathing through your mouth? I do it all the time. Sometimes inhalations, others exhalations. Sometimes in through nose, out through mouth. It's all good.

Nothing can be realistically done until there is a viable reliable energy alternative. Fusion has my vote, but that would require new reactors to be built and they are not cheap. Research teams are working with old flawed reactors trying to glean as much information as they can from them and waiting for approval and funds to build new ones based on they what the have learned.

The Earth is just being the normal Earth that it's been for over 4 billion years. This current heat trend is due to the solar activity which is about to change (more dramatically than the last 12,500 years according to some scientists who aren't paid millions by the government for doom porn answers) starting next year.

If anything is increasing the effect by humans, it's the attempt to clean the atmosphere up, which lets in more heat and ultraviolet rays. But it's not enough to make much of a difference.

Prepare for the heat if you want to, but we're at the dawn of a mini ice age the likes that some say haven't been seen in thousands of years.

I don't get this pejorative,,''mouth breather''. I'am a mouth breather due to life long sinus and lung problems and I need huge doses of air that my olfactory system cannot provide. So, may I ask, what is so bad about ''mouth breathers''?

Imagine if over the last century of coal and oil, we instead put all that same money into solar energy. All the refineries, mines, all the money for research and digging and satellite surveillance, railroads etc... wars? imagine if it went to solar research and development and buildings?

I still don't think we're civilized enough for aliens to make contact with us. What would they think? We have this nearly infinite (for us it is) source that sends incomparable amounts of free energy at us, and we're still burning trees.

While temperatures go up here and down there and then vice versa, what we are experiencing now was predicted thirty years ago by earlier climate watchers. That even before sea levels rise enough to threaten coastal areas, the rest of the globes weather patterns would be disrupted to the extent that what we are seeing around us now would become the new normal.

You're going to lead by example and show your fellow mouth breathers how to get 'er dun, right?

The name has no bearing on people that breathe through their mouth but rather a useless depleter of oxygen, a waste of space, etc. Call it an unlucky coincidence, it's not a dig at mouth-breathers.

Ah, we deserve to cook.
Seriously.
Just look what the United States has done in the last 50 years.

We stalled nuclear powerplant construction.

We ship east coast coal out west and vice versa to regulate sulfer emissions at power plants.
Literally train loads of coal crisscrossing the country for no reason.

We add ethanol to our gasoline reducing fuel economy and wasting countless amounts of energy to produce the ethanol.

We now have something called def...diesel exhaust fluid....
Read up on that little gem...

Yeah, we deserve to die on a scorched planet.

Don't forget hydrogen & thorium vehicles and reactors, too. Thorium in particular has enormous potential to lift a massive energy burden and fill gaps where others fall short. And thorium is much safer to utilize.

The other dig is useless eater. Whatever the dig preference, that poster still needs to lead by example. Everyone is equally useless, especially the ones who use it as an insult first.

ABC Radio told me this morning the yesterday's heat record broke the record set in 1914.
That is 102 years more than 3 years.

And what color do you think the useless mouth breathers are?

Webster says that a mouth breather is "a stupid person". I hope you don't go around telling people you're a mouth breather.

Yep, yeah, and yes.
Real shame eh?

Exhaust fluid crossed the line for me. I thought it was a joke when I first saw it, like blinker fluid or muffler bearings.
Then I had the misfortune of learning about all the terrible things we're doing to diesel engines these days to force them to run like ass and get terrible fuel economy instead of using our technology to make them run better so we could use less fuel.

In the end, it all comes down to this truth: there are entirely too many people per square mile on this planet, and we're breeding with no thought to consequence. Until we face an extinction level event, we will just keep squandering these resources and fighting endless wars over them, all the while destroying the very system that created them to begin with.

A special thanks to LightSpeedDriver for explaining the term 'mouth breather' for me. I assumed it was a fairly well known term.
