what happened here???

What happened there??? and is that dangerous???

I do believe that was a large sub station/ router station and they had to disconnect a high voltage line, and the energy happened to arc across the two terminals, kinda like a jacobs ladder.

I guess its dangerous depending on where you are standing, not that you would actually want to be standing in the middle of a large sub station when the ower is on However, if that was only 500kV then my tesla coil out did it, it went up to about 1.3 - 1.5 million volts I built a faraday cadge and sat right next to it when it was on

You can see a very bright green at the bottom of the two terminals. The burning copper has an interesting effect on the plasma discharge. Seems to be what's keeping the conductivity between the two terminals.
