Liberal and Conservative pundits have been wondering why former President Obama STILL refuses to formally endorse his V.P. Joe Biden for President, even though Biden has been a 2020 candidate since April 25, 2019.

The New York Times published an article 3 days ago that might provide the answer:

One of Joe Biden's biggest selling points as a presidential candidate is the residual glow he enjoys from his time as vice president to Barack Obama.

But, Obama has, on multiple occasions, tried to dissuade Biden from running for president.

First, in 2016, Obama pressured Biden to sit out the race because he believed Hillary Clinton was the best shot at continuing his legacy.

Even though that didn't pan out for Obama, he still tried to talk Biden out of running in 2020 as well.

"You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t!", Mr. Obama told Mr. Biden earlier this year,

Multiple sources confirmed to the Times that the ex-president warned Joe Biden's advisers to make sure that Biden doesn't "embarrass himself" or "damage his legacy."
More at: www.gq.com...

I get the impression that Barack Obama is concerned that Biden will further tarnish HIS (Obama's) legacy. The failure of Obamacare exposed his lies to Americans, and Hillary's loss was a total rejection of continuing Obama's policies.

With each passing day, and Biden "gaffe", it becomes more obvious why former President Obama did not want his Vice President to enter the 2020 Presidential race.

Also, there's an outside chance that Barack knows Michelle Obama will be a late entrant to the Democratic field of candidates. It would be (to put it mildly) awkward for Michelle to run against her husband's "best friend", and former V.P., Joe Biden.

ATS MEMBERS: What do YOU think is President Obama's #1 motivation for keeping Joe Biden out of the 2020 Presidential race?

What do YOU think actually supports the notion that Obama thinks he shouldn't run? Unnamed sources? Isn't that bad?

Doesn't your God say so?

If it weren't for "sources", there wouldn't be much to the New York Times, LOL.

So you doubt the source?

Then what's the point of this thread?

Making sure everyone knows that everyone else knows that Biden is pathetic, (which Obama also feels), and that Obama doesn't want all his own failures (most everything he did) dragged through even more mud for all to see?

Yeah, that is a good point.

My take on this is that President Obama does not want his tenure to be further scrutinized. By Joe Biden running for president and being a high profile member of Obama's administration; then, Obama tenure as president is open for scrutiny.

I don't think that the Obama administration wants multiple people from looking at Obama's administration. Both the progressive, right, and libertarians will be looking at the failures and accomplishments of Obama's administration. More light will be shed on how Obama administration operated. The mainstream media did not dwell on how Obama got things done.

Thus, Biden run for the presidency could end up severely tarnishing Obama reputation once the spotlight is put to his administration.

Obviously Obama told Biden not to run and it just hasn't quite "registered" in Biden's head yet 😁🥳

Obama's "Legacy" is fragile enough without Joe's help making it worse 😎🥝🥥

Because it might be Legitimate. Even the New York Times gets it right occasionally.

A year from now, all Hell will have broken loose from all the coming reports and indictments.

I'm not sure any Democrat Candidate will even get enough primary votes to secure a nomination by the time their convention takes place. If anybody thinks the DNC convention in 2016 was wild and crippled, wait for their 2020 convention 🤣

Because it might be Legitimate.

So, it might be true that Trump is a serial sexual predator?

I know, no one cares about that.

That's a very rational and well thought out response, FelderCarb. Thank-you for contributing!

Anything is possible. You should find an article and start a thread Phage!

In the mudpit?
No point. For all intents and purposes it's no different from Skunk Works. Or the Q threads.

You're right. Half of the candidates will be saying we're in a recession, and the other half will say raising taxes to implement a Green New Deal will end the recession! Yep...the 2016 DNC convention will be tame, by comparison.

You don't mind participating in Mudpit conversations. You may as well start a thread. Come on Phage...

You may as well start a thread.

On what?
Unsubstantiated claims?

No thanks.

Then it will probably be a long time, if ever, before you're able to start a thread containing proof that Donald Trump is a serial predator.

Maybe.

But then you created a thread based upon a source which you do not believe.

Wrong. Like I said before, it's probably one of the few legitimate here-say articles published by the New York Times. Since Obama isn't endorsing his buddy Joe Biden, that's additional evidence this article is probably accurate.

Ah.

So when a source you don't believe says something that supports your paradigm it's valid.

That is, indeed, a thing.
