Will New York's "Child Victims Act" Backfire?

We all want answers as to how deep pedophilia runs in the U.S., but will the answers lead to an unexpected finding?

New York recently passed a law allowing all child victims to make a claim of sexual abuse regardless of how many years ago it happened. Starting August 14th, victims will be able to sue (or enter into settlements) for a whole year without worrying about statutes of limitation.

While New York feels that every victim deserves to be heard (which they do), I wonder if anyone's truly considered where this might lead. Is this purely an effort sparked by the #MeToo movement or could the Trump administration be trying to connect all the dots to see if they're related to Jeffrey Epstein and prominent figures associated with him in New York?

Based on multiple sources, it looks like a number of organizations could easily go bankrupt. Some of the organizations mentioned that need to worry are the Catholic diocese in New York, the Boy Scouts, and even the Rockefeller University Hospital. How many teachers, professors, and other organizations are we going to see taking a hit? It looks like the Vatican alone has paid out over $2.2 BILLION in settlements.

How crazy is this going to get? One man who claims to have been abused by Dr. Reginald Archibald (who worked for the Rockefeller University Hospital) claims that he's suffering from all kinds of mental trauma just from being reminded of his abuse due to the letters that the hospital sent out to potential victims asking them to report what they experienced from decades ago.

Dr. Reginald Archibald died back in 2007, but the University Hospital claims that it now wants to heal the wounds that might have been caused over a period of 40 years caused by this one doctor, who kept a list of 9,000 potential victims all on his own.

So, while some may be pressing for this out of good faith efforts, what long term damage can we expect to see? Will this start to heal old wounds? Will it end up bankrupting more organizations in New York than anyone considered? Could it lead to one big pedophile ring being exposed that runs deep throughout the entire state of New York (and God knows where else) that they may not recover from, including the U.S. government?

Times are about to get interesting indeed!

Uh, Trump's administration works with U.S. Attorneys around the country. Don't you think that his administration could use the information gathered from this type of reporting to investigate a deeper problem? Trump's from New York. There's no doubt that he and others in his administration have contact with New York state's government to encourage such an opening for a larger scale investigation.

Go back far enough no evidence, then it becomes a he said she said which leaves it ripe for abuse.

Least that's my nickles worth.

Very true. The interesting part will be to see how many people make accusations towards the same people without knowing each other. If anything, this will lead to a great tool for collecting information.

off topic....... every law passed will be searched thoroughly for loopholes, and loopholes will be applied, That is American Justice.

on topic....... The same thing applies to "Child Victims Act" just as well. Lawyers and $'s will be involved, loopholes and Dollar$ will prevail.

The real safety of children will be secondary.
