Democrats Now Whining That Supreme Court Is Too Prejudiced To Hear Gun Case

Is the below comment, from an article I linked below, accurate?

"The federal government is working the way the founders intended, but the Dems can't handle that they can't get their way."

It seems that whenever something goes against the Democrats, they are quick to blame someone, while looking for excuses and a way to change the system. In this case, that system is The Supreme Court.

...several 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have suggested they would propose expanding the high court to as many as 15 justices if they win the White House, then fill those seats with liberal members to counter the GOP’s current 5-4 majority in appointments.

LINK

Democrats don't want The Supreme Court to hear a case that involves a New York gun control law.

There's apparently two types of gun licenses for handgun possession within New York City. Gun-rights groups challenged a NYC ordinance that states that gun owners who have a home-only license, can't transport "their weapons to second homes or shooting ranges outside the city." They lost their appeal to the lower courts. They now want The Supreme Court to hear the case, "but New York, fearing a loss that could turn into a major pro-gun precedent, scrambled to undo its ordinance."

Democrats are upset that if The Supreme Court hears the case and there's a favorable ruling for the gun-rights groups, then it "would expand on the last 12 years of pro-gun rulings."

The city had an ordinance that prevented those with the home-only license from transporting their weapons to second homes or shooting ranges outside the city.

Gun-rights groups challenged the ordinance, but lower courts sided with the city. The gun-rights groups have asked the Supreme Court to hear the case, but New York, fearing a loss that could turn into a major pro-gun precedent, scrambled to undo its ordinance.

Mr. Whitehouse and a host of other Democrats and liberal activist groups are now pleading with the high court to refuse to hear the case, arguing New York has made it moot. They fear a 5-4 ruling would expand on the last 12 years of pro-gun rulings.

LINK

Senator Whitehouse had some interesting things to say:

The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it,” Mr. Whitehouse argued in his brief. “Perhaps the court can heal itself before the public demands it be restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics. Particularly on the urgent issue of gun control, a nation desperately needs it to heal.”

LINK

Whitehouse means The Supreme Court should be "restructured" to suit the Democrats. "Reduce the influence of politics?" Perhaps Whitehouse should look up the word 'hypocrite.'

Yep. I think the above comment is accurate.

Between this and the harassment of ICE agents, the Democratic party is seriously getting to the point where Bill Barr needs to launch a RICO investigation into them. It sure appears to be crossing the line into racketeering.

NY and their draconian gun laws make me sick. There is a case where a lady was at home and it was invaded. There was a gun at home and she used it. The police even admitted that if she hadn't she would have been killed. They arrested her for the gun and she will probably go to prison.

How dare they protect the constitution and the rights of the citizens of this nation?

Well we all know the Supreme Court was a big deal and whoever won would directly affect the Supreme Court for decades. The people spoke and Trump was elected, which in turn moved the Supreme Court to a more conservative point of view. Elections have consequences and if the Democrats keep up their same old rhetoric and hate for anyone that disagrees with them. We will see Trump re-elected and probably pick another Supreme Court judge.

NY is so fecking backward. While I live in a stand your ground state NY has a retreat doctrine. Retreat doctrine is where you are obligated to run and hide.

New York law is an open invitation to home invaders

Do we forget that McConnell decide to give himself the power to NOT confirm or deny Court Nominations in order to break the judicial system and gain political power?

They should be monetarily penalized every time they attempt to force their agenda onto a supposedly impartial court/justice's rulings/decision.

This whine/bitch/moan/complain tactic is a farce, as well as a complete avoidance of actual work.

Perhaps some laws requiring these asshats to actually do a fixed amount of work that the citizens of their respective jurisdictions actually call for would be beneficial.

Like 10,000 dollar fines every time that they are caught trying to influence decisions/procedures that are none of their buisness.

And the conservatives hate activist judges until they are on their side. One already rewrote the meaning of the 2nd Amendment which the conservatives, of course, had no problem with because it rewrote it in a way they liked. Hypocrisy is always alive and well.

The second Amendment is one sentence for a reason.

So it can't be twisted/interpreted into anything else.

The old keep it simple stupid rule.

now I am confused. This article is about the left crying and throwing a tantrum about not wanting the SC to hear a case that will likely turn out well for conservatives. How does that equate to someone being a hypocrite? I mean other than lefties crying about the court being sick, when it's just fine?

well of course, that's the whole point of ideals, to push what you think is right and oppose what you think is wrong. that's idealism not hypocrisy.

although, hypocrisy is what humans are, nothing new and it won't ever change even if you call out people till your fingers bleed.

Crazy how easily people trust the government as soon as their team is the one in power. Forget the fact that the government is made up of more than just a president's cabinet and forget the fact that the majority of government positions carry over from administration to administration, my team is in office so government is good and fighting for me!

The ones truly in power are never the ones in office or on TV, they are the ones who pay people to do those things for them in exchange for "political favors", a.k.a. legislation that benefits their own selfish interests.

But yes, the federal government is operating as the founders intended. The Dems said the same thing about Obama.
