I guess english is funny down there.
No where in the op is america mentioned.

I guess you have the same problem with English that you claim I have.....

The fact that the AMERICAN NRA is actively getting itself involved in this (not mentioned in that particular article, but its all over the news) is the reason why I am bringing it up in this thread. It is part of the story whether you like it or not. I am sorry that is inconvenient to your "WHAAA THIS THREAD IS ANTI-AMERICAN" nonsense but facts are facts.

nice try tho........you people fooled the aussies you wont fool us

Huh? Who is "You people"? Are you now claiming that I'm not Aussie or something? What the hell are you on about now?

LOLOLOL

from YOUR link
perhaps you missed this part

OPINION

You brought no facts, no sources just your bs rant.
It would be better suited in the rant section, this is breaking news, you know for actual facts.
not the

OPINION

piece you attempted to sell as facts

nice try tho....
never let a crisis go to waste right?

Ahh so thats what you're pinning everything on now. Ignore the hypocrisy, ignore the fact you made false claims, just pin your hopes on the fact that the article says "Opinion".

Doubt you even read it, you just saw "opinion" at the top and thought to yourself "now I got him".

LOL

I don't have to "pin" anything.
It appears that some brave citizens stopped a madman stabbing people in sydney.
Bravo to them.
Good to see there are some brave people down there.

Explain to me why you claimed that I was being "anti-American" and why us Aussies shouldnt talk about American gun control when the NRA is here doing it to us right now over this incident.

Go on.....explain please.

Perhaps because you brought an anti american opinion piece to a breaking news thread?
It is pretty simple.
You want to rant against the nra an the USA, by all means start a thread.
Shout it to the roof tops. Just don't be disingenuous about it.

We have established that calling for gun control to SAVE LIVES is NOT anti-American, so I dont know why you keep trying to claim it is.

It is pretty simple.

Yeah it is. Which begs the question as to why you aren't "getting it".

Why start a new thread? Its relevant in this one given the NRA are calling for the loosening of Australian gun laws over the incident in the OP. Please explain how its not relevant.

we
and all this time I thought you an aussie, turns out you are french?
when pulling a horrible opinion piece out of your keister that literally says this attack would be worse in america then yes it is.

Why start a new thread?

because this one is about a news story
and not your poorly disguised opinion

it is funny to me how the nra has you all wound up tho
much more it seems than muslim jihadists stabbing people on the streets of one of your major metropolitan areas
"no worries about the stabbers, its the dirty american nra that we need to worry about"
lol
nice try

Yo yo yo take it easy you two, sorry to stick my nose in.

It seems to me that the fact that this was in bold
Text.

and worded this way, in white, made it look like it was a direct dig at America.

It does look that way tbh, but that doesn't mean it was definitely the intent.

Chill with each other a bit, cyberhug it out 🤗

Today’s shocking events in Sydney could’ve been far worse if this was America

If it had been some US city and not Sydney, and a man with an assault rifle and not a knife, we’d be having a different conversation right now.

I simply copied the bolding and headline of the article. How that makes it "anti-American" is beyond me, and how is it irrelevant is beyond me given that the Americans are sticking their noses into the situation.

It kind of looks like that other poster is just playing victim because he doesn't like what he's reading and can't back up any of his claims.

Luckily, heroic bystanders cornered the madman before he could hurt anyone else...

Looks like they did a great job apprehending this madman.
I am glad he was not able to harm more people!

Our strict gun laws contributed to the fact he was unable to harm more people. Hence the reason for my posts.

Thankyou for clarifying that.

Our strict gun laws contributed to the fact he was unable to harm more people.

Perhaps it was his inability to obtain a drivers license, or rent a truck, or make a bomb?
Perhaps strict credit card laws were the savior?

I submit it was the bravery of the people that intervened and stopped the muslim jihadist.
Hopefully that form of violent behavior can be overcome in Australia.

Any proof of what you are saying beyond guessing?

I find it hilarious how you just cant bring yourself to admit our laws prevented an even greater tragedy. It's ridiculous the way you are twisting everything so you can avoid admitting it.

At least you have given up trying to claim that im being "anti-American" and that the article is off-topic given the absolute proof that neither of those assertions are correct. Thats a bonus, I suppose.

In Britain thanks to government cuts its not so much a case of escaped patients but, rather released because there's nobody to care for them.
Shocking but at the same time not, violence on the streets is the norm now.

I am pretty sure what the bystanders did was brave, unless you have a different definition?
As to the truck, or bomb; it is as plausible as what you submitted, opinions and all.

No, I think your posting of the opinion piece that is anti american was anti american.
I also think there was no other purpose for it.
Again, as your link, just opinion.

This is what the question CLEARLY referred to, not all the other nonsense you are trying to distract with.

Please answer that question in the context of the lines you typed above.
