Well, this one should be a shocker to even the most ardent supporter. If there is one topic on ATS, beside aliens, that has unified people over the years, it's Monsanto and our general hatred for their disdain for all life. They are the epitome of everything that is evil.

Or are they?

The Trump administration has instructed companies not to warn customers about products that contain glyphosate, a move aimed at California as it fights one of the world's largest agriculture companies about the potentially cancer-causing chemical.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says it will no longer approve labels warning glyphosate is known to cause cancer. The chemical is marketed as a weed killer by Monsanto under the brand Roundup.

And this is being done as Bayer (who recently bought Monsanto) is being ordered to pay exorbitant amounts of money for glyphosate related cancers.

An estimated 13,000 plaintiffs have pending lawsuits against Monsanto concerning glyphosate. Three of those cases went to trial in California, and juries awarded damages in each case, although judges later reduced the amounts.

In May, a jury ordered Monsanto to pay a California couple $2.055 billion dollars after a trial where they blamed the company's product for caused their cancers. Last month , a judge reduced that award to $87 million.

Regardless if they are good or bad, there should be labeling laws that allow us to decide for ourselves. But they are fighting that battle just as hard as the dis info battle telling us these chemicals are safe to be consumed.

That trump supports the corpocracy is no surprise, he is part of the establishment. If he weren't, he wouldn't have been selected.

I am sure we are only months away from our government passing a law that will shield them from littigation, just like the big pharmaceutical companies.

Monsanto no longer exists. Bayer bought it.

Also, the patent on glyphosate expired a while back. Lots of companies produce and sell it now.

Here at the bottom of the pile of B.S. lies the real truth.

In the last paragraph -

A federal judge blocked California from enforcing the labels while the lawsuit continues.

www.nytimes.com...

So Monsanto has sued, and a judge in California won't allow
labeling while the suit is in progress.

Exactly where does Trump fit in?

It's getting harder for the Left to find something REAL to complain about.

Exactly where does Trump fit in?

Here:

The Trump administration has told companies not to warn customers about products that contain glyphosate, a decision targeted at a California regulation that requires labels to warn consumers that the Roundup ingredient is potentially cancer-causing.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says it will no longer approve labels warning glyphosate is known to cause cancer. The chemical, marketed as a weed killer by Monsanto under the brand Roundup, is currently the focus of lawsuits from thousands of consumers alleging it caused their cancers.
www.cbsnews.com...

But this is more about Trump vs California than anything else, methinks.

Have you bought anything in California? Everything you buy in California causes cancer, pretty much, according to the labels. I prefer such things to be decided by science rather than jury though.

To be frank, I don't care who owns the rights. Is it safe? Just because anthrax has been around a long time doesn't mean I can sell it as a sugar substitute...

Yeah. There's a reason for that.

There actually is quite a bit of study on glyphosate though.

So the EPA is the "Trump Administration"?
LOL!

What about all of the laws in place made under Obama, Bush, Clinton?
ETC?

You know how it works, The President doesn't make the
laws and guide the research. Even the small changes
Trump did make in the FDA are being challenged in
court. But yeah, CA labels everything, but that still
has zero to do with Trump.

There has been a quite of bit of "study" on many Monsanto products. Hell, plenty has been done proving smoking tobacco is safe. Doesn't mean it's true...
