I went to your link. This model is not obese.
www.modcloth.com...

Ashley Graham is a plus size model. Her BMI is not obese, and she is not obese. Obesity is about more than BMI.

The models on modcloth range between 0-28, they definitely have obese models. I can't post pictures or I would.

The reason that they don't stock our sizes is because they don't want us shopping there. They want to cater to the beautiful people and don't want them to see people of our size there.

Notice how anything said about race, gender and sexual preference has people waiting shout it down? Large people are the last group that can be mocked or insulted with no backlash. Retailers know this. There are things called "style guides" that specify what can and cannot be done. I can't go into specifics because I'm still covered under a disclosure agreement with my previous employer.

Image is everything in advertising. Anybody remember the K-mart, Sears merger? It was the worst thing that K-mart ever did. (yes K-mart bought out Sears, not the other way around) Major brands (Nike) pulled out of Sears because they didn't want their "brand diluted" by being sold at K-mart.

30 is the starting point for obese so 28 would not be obese, BMI is just a starting point though. I don't know any models 35+ BMI that would make people want to buy clothes. Anyways I think we mostly agree.

Actually, there is a movement to pick up fat shaming by the left, but you can still freely mock and denigrate straight white Christian males all you want.

I'm only partially protected by being female, but even I get denigrated because I'm conservative so I must be misogynist and controlled by my man to be voting that way.

She's talking about a women's size 28, not a BMI of 28.

That's a size 28, not a BMI of 28.

Thanks for the correction. I still have yet to ever see a truly obese woman on a major runway or in a major ad. So until they become a regular appearance I think my point stands.

Victoria secrets has huge problems but this isn't one of them. Who really cares what models they use. What should concern people is they have shown to sexually harass their models.

For example several photographers associated with the company have been accused of sexual misconduct, and the close ties between company head Leslie Wexner—and convicted sex offender and former financier Jeffrey Epstein.
