I think a socialized healthcare for the basics is a great idea, but we need to stop the healthcare system from raping us financially. I remember when you went to the doctor and the doctor just advised you to watch what triggered your symptoms and prescribed something as an anticoagulant to make sure that your blood did not gel up...like an aspirin.

Now they send you for all sorts of tests at great expense and then tell you that...oh this is common, we cannot do anything about it. But you can rest assurred we have checked out all sorts of things that are major issues. They may prescribe a long term med that makes you feel calmer, so you do not notice the symptoms.

I know a doctor who actually works with people to try to correct problems, he orders some blood work to identify deficiencies and a urinalysis that tests for multiple things in the Urine. It costs about eight hundred bucks but identifies problems and advises people how to fix the problem naturally with diet. He does not accept insurance, but people can send in claims themselves, the insurance does cover quite a bit of the bill. He is a regular doctor but is trying to help people by increasing their awareness of how food chemistry interacts with the body.

It would be nice if all doctors were trained like him, but his training was done by researching stuff, he does what I do but has less time than me. His wife and daughter actually help him with his research, both work in his office full time. They discuss things and try to actually fix things.

I have a different doctor, I am not interested in having to pay then bill the insurance company, maybe if I was younger and was working, but basically I already can figure many things out. What you eat effects your health, and everyone has different amounts of enzymes they produce, based on epigenetic factors. some people need to eat some foods and avoid others, or might need a companion food that stimulates and enzyme or blocks another.

If we want to fix healthcare, we need to properly educate people about this, and eventually, a good genetic app could help to identify types of metabolism, but presently it is not fully researched and assimilated yet.

So does the right just NEVER read other party/candidate platforms or browse ANY media outside the right-wing bubbles?

You shouldnt need a thread like this to know the issues. The left shouts them EVERYWHERE all the time. Hell Clinton wrote a book with all her ENTIRE PLATFORM explaining it.

Can you name one ?
That would clarify and sanctify your response.
But first take a deep breath.

I think most of us want these things, but I think we deeply disagree on the best way to get there.

I want to stop being called a communist because I'm ideologically a progressive. Especially when I own a business, employ Americans and pay my taxes. Not to mention, I love the free enterprise system yet still get labeled as a socialist because I think government should represent the citizens rather than the corporations and banks.

Actually most of the people I meet outside of ATS are reasonable, well mannered and not obsessed with politics.

btw...I'm not a democrat.

All of your responses are greatly appreciated!

from the replies, it seems most of us want the same things.

I want safe cities to let people not have to live in fear. I currently live in a safe area, and I don't have any fear and I want others to have that peace of mind.

I want quality education for kids.

I want secure borders, and I would like the immigration system to accept those who wish to be a part of this nation. I think it should require a little effort, but not a multi year expensive process. I firmly oppose open borders as nobody has those. We all seem to lock our doors, and require visitors to knock before entering, the border should be no different.

I want health care to be affordable, but I don't want doctors forced out of the market. We need quality people in those positions and their quality is of value. Reasonable value.

I want the idea that working for something isn't wrong, isn't mean, isn't bad, it's required. Teach a man to fish instead of giving him one.

I want the mental health system to merge into the year 2019 and start treating the issues with solutions, not necessarily just drugs. We all need to realize that complex problems aren't easy to solve, but at the same time, should NEVER be pushed aside because we don't like working on the hard problems.

I don't want any more wars. With anyone. They are stupid, juvenile, and in the end, everyone looses, but the winner lost a bit less. That's #ing ignorant from any standpoint and should be universally understood.

I'd really like people to think before they explode with anger. Myself included.

I categorically disagree. I read other party/candidate platforms and brows media outside of the "right-wing bubble", and I don't see answers to the questions I asked.

Clinton's book (I assume you are referring to the book ...'Stronger Together'...here) just cherry picked opposition party policies and elaborated at length on why they don't work, and only offered very brief and generic solutions in return.

Sure, I want to 'boil the oceans' and 'solve world hunger' too, but I have to be specific about what I want to do to accomplish these goals.

Great response!

Can you elaborate a little bit on your 3rd point (below)? I'd like to understand this better, because they seem mutually exclusive, so I'm thinking I misunderstood.

I want less overcrowding and overdevelopment.

Ah, I also want psyops and propaganda against the public by the media and the government to be a crime, and not the status quo.

Great response! I actually agree with every one of your points.

I do have a question though about your 3rd point though . You state...

I want housing to be based upon cost rather than hyper bubble bankers profits

I'm not sure I understand how you remove market demand (i.e. location, etc) out of real estate prices. I'm all for it, but I just don't see how you accomplish this.

I would like to see pragmatic and real world solutions being put forth, debated, and adopted.

If it meets that description it doesn't mater what final direction the policy takes .... for example Universal Health Care or Private Insurance doesn't mater so long as what ever it is is pragmatic and based in reality.

Well, to be perfectly candid and honest, I haven't seen anything yet in this thread which couldn't be significantly improved for everyone with exactly what you suggest. I also have to say, I'm actually not really surprised at this.

I think at our core many of us have the same objectives; where things get sideways is with some of the more extreme issues which get inextricably tacked on to some of the items listed here, issues which want to take something away from someone else. Those are the issues which divide us. (And, both sides do this, not just one).

Beautiful places like California are becoming so overcrowded and overdeveloped it takes away from the charm. Who wants to share paradise with so many people you can't even enjoy it. Too many people equals more pollution, litter, unbalance of the ecosystem etc etc. Places that used to be pristine are now turning into sess pits and it's very sad. They keep developing more and more which will bring more people more problems. I fear the same is going to happen to the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Sharing paradise with 2 million people (which was the population of l.a. 30 years ago) is reasonable, sharing it with 8 million becomes a clusterf+$# of epic proportions.

Understand your premise, but how would you go about accomplishing this? Forced relocation of people?

Again, it's an honest question, and I just don't understand.

want corporations to be subject to and held accountable for actions that result in death or injury just like people are.

If by that you mean making and selling defective products, I fully agree.
But is someone uses a baseball bat to kill a person, is the company responsible ?
Is Ford responsible for a drunk driver killing someone ?
Is Sabatier at fault of someone is stabbed with a kitchen knife ?

No horse in this race but I would really like to see:

-A cap on private capital...if you can't hack it with 1 billion dollars you are the problem (I could even see how 100 million could be enough for any man)

-World peace

-Unicorn breeding programs

Peace

Too late to change l.a but places like Palm Springs limit population by restricting the height of buildings and new developments. I hear they get overrun during tourist season though.

Some ideas to keep from getting overrun during tourist season ban rentals like Airbnb, limit hotels.

Keep cities clean by making littering fines high enough to scare anyone from making a mess. Do like in Japan and publicly shame slobs.....
