Haha I thought about that lately, doing a comic about some aliens who look at earth and are about to push the destroy button.

Then a nother aliens say "wait.... I get some advanced weapons on the scanner... yes, we can save our energy, they are directed towards them selfes...*alien laughter*"

My work recently had us purchase a $22,000.00 Satellite image mosaic with 15 cm resolution.

Because I deal with various technical aspects in my professional career, I also have access to daily satellite imagery.
But at best the daily imagery is down to 1 m

The Army was testing surveillance blimps in Baltimore for a few years until one broke free and caused some havoc. Then they suspended the program.

Maybe someone got sick of the blimp flying over head. Maybe something similar will happen out west.

You'd better worry. I don't think the Pentagon is testing balloons, camera's or any controllable combination of the sort.
Me thinks the Pentagon is testing acceptance of full surveillance on and by own population.

Phage, what do think they do about maintaining altitude above the flight corridors and retrieval operations?
Doesn't it make sense they're more blimp like drones with some controls than windblown balloons?
Otherwise, descent is somewhat of a problem through commercial aviation zones if landings uncontrolled.
I would ascent would occur from a military facility in a nogo zone for commercial aviation
