Young black people are more likely than their peers to consider themselves Democrats—and “strong Democrats” at that—but nearly a third of them believe the Democratic Party doesn’t care about them, according to a recent poll.

While young black people were most likely to say the Democratic Party cares about them, nearly a third said they didn’t find that to be true. The survey also shows just a little over half of black respondents identifying as Democrats, with more than a third saying they saw themselves as “independent” or “something else.”

Young black people who did align themselves with the party, however, were more likely than other groups to consider themselves “strong” Democrats, at 52 percent.

Majorities of Asian American, Latinx, and white Democrats said they didn’t consider themselves strongly Democratic.

Pretty interesting read. A full 25% of young voters say that none of the Democratic Potential nominees nor Trump are the person to solve problems near and dear to them.

Any politician that takes their votes for granted will probably be pretty disappointed.

One of the Democrats most solid voting blocks is showing signs of dissatisfaction. That should scare the hell out of the DNC.

That's too bad...

If only the dems can find a replacement for the block of voters they lost.

Is there another group they could possibly....import...and get on the dem plantation that will stuff the ballot boxes for them based on empty promises?

Where would you find such a group........

The real funny part of all of this is that embracing illegal immigrants is probably the major reason for Black voter dissatisfaction with the Democrats.

Trump's continues to poll better than almost any other Repubican President with Hispanics even and it's been increasing even with all the border drama.

Of course they're starting to see through the BS.
Was anyone better off after 8 years of Obama? After all the pandering and promises, what did they have? Not Jack or sh!t.

But after 2 years of "literally Hitler" they're better off than ever.

Trump does...he's obsessed with his ratings and poll numbers. Doesn't matter what I think.

Deny all you want. Trump is making inroads or at least holding his own with those two demographics despite his tweets.

What have the Pelosi Democrats done for African Americans or Hispanics lately? Let's hear it.

Trump's plans has more of them employed and paying less in taxes. People understand that.

Actually, the Democrats are more into supporting the middle class jobs. They try to get people money in areas like Mental health, planned parenthood, Health Departments, and teachers in Schools, because they will spread their philosophy of steering people to vote for democratic candidates. Most of the money for these programs does not go to the poor, most of the cost to run them is administrative and of course, there are janitorial jobs and the programs give money to the poor, but that money usually goes to businesses. It benefits the middle class more than the poor. Even the food benefits help the workers in the stores and the store owners, in turn, the increased sales allow stores to sell at a cheaper price which again benefits the middle class who shop there.

Follow the money.

They don't have to vote Trump. They could simply sit out in even bigger numbers than they did in 2016. Wouldn't be good news for the eventual DNC candidate either way.

And your links show a higher current approval rating than Trump held favourable rating before the 2016 election which he won...

Young people are making a mistake if they are expecting much from the Dem or the Repub party.

1 in 3?

So less than 33% don't or more than 66% do.

Nice spin.

Only 3200 people were polled too by the way. A very small number, wouldn't you say?

Except you missed something. They say the Democrat party does not represent them, but consider themselves STRONG Democrats.

That is exactly why they have no representation.
