The Russia collusion allegations are a classic "Witch Trial"

Think about the witch trials of the 17th and 18th centuries. What was being allegated?

The accused has supposedly consorted with Satan. It's a claim that cannot, in principle, ever be disproven. Naturally people who became the victims of these accusations were terrified.

(If you ask the majority of democrats about Vladimir Putin, they would probably tell you he is the devil himself.)

Any moment the person spent that was unaccounted for, even their own room sleeping, could potentially be when they offered their prayer to Satan.

(Or in the modern world, they could be on their cell phone.)

An inquisitor would be appointed.

(Or in the modern world, I guess we call those "Special Counsel")

The investigation would drag on without going anywhere, because (in most cases) the accused was indeed innocent. And since an accusation like this can only be proven true, but never false (because proving it false is impossible in principle), the public would just become increasingly agitated and uneasy about it, until the authorities would close the case (often by torturing a confession).

(Fortunately we don't torture confessions anymore.)

Mueller team wanted to keep going, but AG Barr shut the witch-hunt down.

Not only that, who are the allegators?

Is that why Trump was speaking about draining the swamp?

Which is precisely why the Founding fathers thought it wise to set up a system where you were presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Democrats are trying to bring us back to the middle ages.

I have to ask...

Why do you think you are relevant to the conversation about American politics anymore here?

You're a partisan hack for the Democratic party, which not in favor anymore here.

Is it just some weird thing you do to get negative attention?

Or are you... attempting to influence the results of an American election?

Honestly wondering.

As the left has become the new Puritans, I suppose the analogy is complete.

...proving history does repeat itself.

Well this one failed, and the last one and the one before that.

Let's just all forget about it and save up our energy for the next allegation(post 2020).

Hopefully that one will stick and we'll get the "justice" that we've all been told we deserve.

In the meantime, pay your taxes, vote and stop asking questions about your overlords.

Also, get outraged about things that have been happening for decades that are somehow "new" to your easily manipulated mind.

Typical dems...

Hoping for the plane to crash....

Instead of taking the initiative and going over to the door and opening it at altitude, depressurizing the cabin and sending everyone to their doom.

They have not conviction or follow through....

Someone at the Dim debates should ask them to raise their hand if they believe an accused is INNOCENT unless PROVEN GUILTY.

As long as the accused was framed as an "undocumented immigrant", i'm sure they'd all raise their hand.

Wouldn't it be easier to just see who belongs to a witches coven?

Wanna know which politician does?

If asked, they would have to quantify that by asking about skin color, political affiliation and sexual preference before they could answer the question.

Not that they would be asked that question because the questions asked tonight are probably ones that they gave the moderator to ask them.

Unlikely,

Have the questions the moderators ask ever been leaked to a candidate??????

Not in "our" democracy.

Which raises an interesting point... Not a single candidate on that stage declared their pronouns.

The horror.
