Oh my! Well, I certainly was not trying to deflect from your much needed emotional outlet, hating on one of "The Squad".

But, to be fair, part of the "Green New Deal" has to do with creating a safe infrastructure, to accommodate foreseen flooding and sea level rise, for example.

But, don't mind me. I was just curious about the phrase "best safety practices" and wondering if they were mandated or voluntary. I'm sure your nemesis, AOC would make those kinds of regulations mandatory, with her wild and crazy Green New Deal".

Nope
The "green new deal" is concerned with "farting cows".

"It was an embarrassment–and to my knowledge, the most ill-conceived energy proposal in the history of the United States by a major political party since the oil-industry nationalization proposals of the shortage 1970s."

Not surprising YOU support it.
0 Dems in the Senate were as brave (blindly stupid) as you.
Way to go!

That's false. We already have those laws, they are already mandatory. NGD has to do with destroying existing structures to replace them with energy efficient ones, not safer ones.

When you don't follow best practice you are gambling there won't be an issue. If there is a problem, it is your fault and you are liable.

Senator Ed Markey, the lead GND sponsor in the Senate, released an infrastructure white paper for a “green and climate-friendly infrastructure legislative package” because “[c]limate change has amplified existing threats to America’s infrastructure.”

Are you claiming if we do not vote and pass the new green deal NY city can not create codes to meet their infrastructure needs?

AOC suffers from extreme low iQ, obvious to anyone; like another Democrat said, people like her are the reason for instructions on shampoo bottles....

So someone added to the cow fart proposal?
What else would you do with the most ill conceived energy policy in the history of the usa?
Will the dems vote for it this time?
Will it stop the cows from farting?

Are you saying that if we don't pay attention to climate change science cities will not suffer?

Many cities are struggling, against Trump's non-regulations, to rebuild in the aftermath of hurricanes, floods and tornadoes, for example, in ways that would protect populations and infrastructure from predictable climate change disasters, even though the Trump administration is doing everything within their power to stymie and silence actual climate change studies and statistics.

If one believes that climate change science is a fraud designed to redistribute wealth then one could say it is good for cities if we don't pay attention to climate change science.

Also, I am not sure how "Trump's non-regulations" would impede cities "to rebuild in the aftermath of hurricanes, floods and tornadoes, for example, in ways that would protect populations and infrastructure from predictable climate change disasters". Certainly, since you would say 97% of scientists agree on climate change science then certainly there must be enough info for cities to rebuild in a way that would protect populations. Given that the current climate change models have all drastically overestimated the temperature change and sea level rise I would think cities would have info to way overbuild for the effects.

How come cities got in the bad predicament they're in when all those regulations were in force ?

Something assbackwards 😎

Actually what I said was cities can already figure out what their needs are and implement codes that need to be followed. Not sure how you didn't understand. Then again you were too busy deflecting to actually answer my question so you probably didn't want to understand.

Because their infrastructures are old. When climate disasters strike, federal funds are tied to rebuilding, including interstate highways, and engineers should look at the climate studies to decide how and where to put the new roads, sewers and communities.

How come the big cities (all Democrat controlled) haven't fixed the problems they have created ?
