Honestly after a day to think about it I believe this story is bull#. She would definitely be in jail at this point even if she did nothing to him literally. Doesn’t sound like you were at a bar because that’s what bouncers are for. Ever see a real bouncer go beast mode. Imagine a triggerhappy cop without his gun. That is the mind set of the activated bouncer who will identify and destroy all threats to him once moved outside the bar before that it’s all escorting out as non violently as possible until your outside.

I'm not excusing his behaviour, i'm suggesting your militant feminist vigilante justice approach i see everywhere you post isn't legal or appropriate.

You hate men, we get it but we are still afforded the same rights as women.

If this story was about a man who pulled a knife on a woman for the same reasons you would take a totally difference stance.

Two things to say, made an account just for this.

First, drawing a weapon on anyone who is totally drunk like this is very dangerous. Alcohol lowers inhibitions, as demonstrated by the sickos behavior. Few people who pull one are ready to use it. Think of worst case scenario, anyone really think she's ready to kill this guy (or the next) if he comes after her? Even if it was justified it would destroy her life. The sad truth is more women get hurt badly or worse when pulling weapons for these exact reasons. Protection starts with controlling variables and risk management.

Second, did nobody do the totally unhip thing and call the police? This is part of the reason predators are a dime a dozen in our society, they don't face consequences when people don't report their actions to law enforcement. I know it's not as convenient or badass as pulling a knife and bragging to the world, but she could have just let a would be (or current/former) rapist get it in his head he can feel up 10's of women all night with no consequences. If he's not a complete piece of $#@* maybe he'll smarten up after getting a record. And if he doesn't, next time he screws up it will be that much harder for a judge to dismiss or push for a light sentence.

Exactly, if he sexually assaulted the op she should have called the police and spoke to staff.

I'm from Glasgow, i've seen first hand the results of a knife carry culture and it isn't pretty.

Both the op and her assailant should have been arrested. Only one of them however was a danger to the others life.

I have had a lot of things to happen in my life too that were unpleasant. Including instances where I was "taken out" a few times by women. This post wreaks of trying to catagorize all men as violent. You wouldn't be a feminist by any chance would you?

Yeah if someone came up to my wife drunk and started falling all over her or being sexually aggressive i'd get in the way and tell him to back off. Hell if things escalated it could even turn into a fight. But would i pull a knife and threaten his life? No, it's just not appropriate for the situation.

Violence, especially with a deadly weapon should always be a last resort.
