Congressman Al Green just told CNN "Trump's base is not the American People! The American people want him impeached."

Okay Al, whatever you say.

So it is now a fact that a vast majority of democrats in the house DO NOT SUPPORT impeaching President Donald J Trump!
Perhaps some of those predicting impeachment here will now see their folly?

I don't believe all dems are insane. I'm sure there are many moderates that listen to their constituents, in addition to realizing that a president has to actually be guilty of something before starting impeachment procedings.

I think most Americans would prefer if our government was functional, rather than obstructionist.

Perhaps old Al should do an interview on the cartoon network. I'm sure they like clowns, and the ratings are better.

I have to ask, though, why would you watch CNN?

It seems to be a yearly thing but they are constantly attempting to get rid of this POTUS.

It was Green’s third attempt to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump, though his previous attempts in 2017 and 2018 failed in a Republican-controlled House. It is unlikely to be his last, as many of the Democrats who voted to table this measure said they did so because they were waiting to hear testimony from former special counsel Robert Mueller later in the month, or because they had other impeachment-friendly irons in the fire.

www.rt.com...

Many Dems spend much of their time on this effort alone. It really doesn't matter what Trump does. They have been trying to impeach him since literally days after his inauguration. If Trump only sat in the Oval Office and autographed pictures, they would still continually try to impeach him.

Their basis for impeachment are trumped up, fraudulent, and solely opinion based. It's never ending. They focus on this because they DON'T WANT to do their jobs. If they were a smidgen effective in making ANYTHING better under this POTUS term, it would reflect well on the POTUS and they don't want that for sure. So their efforts are to sabotage the betterment of the USA as a whole in any way they can while Trump is in office. They don't want good things for the people. They just want Trump gone so this country can crash into an effen chaotic political abyss and give them opportunity to put their hooks into anything they can to gain control over the people. They are political tapeworms, sucking the people dry.

Hell they were trying before he was even sworn in. Remember when they tried to strongarm the Electoral College with the whole vote your conscience bullcrap? It's pathological.

Without taking any side in this, it is shear political suicide to invoke impeachment. The silent majority will burn you at the stake (the polls).

It looks like the Impeachment conundrum is closing it's doors. Rep Green has tried 3 times now to get support for his impeachment, perhaps if he would have found a reason first, then opened with that.......

His reasons were "racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia..." Even setting aside the fact that Trump is none of those things, Rep. Greene never seems to realize that none of that is illegal!!!

Ever hear the phrase "high crimes & misdemeanors," you ignorant buffoon?

No? I didn't think so.

The House can't have a show trial. All they can do is indict. The Senate has the trial, and the Senate is a Republican majority. Even if it were to actually result in a trial (which McConnell has said will never happen), it requires a 2/3 majority to convict and remove from office.

In other words, this is nothing more than angry screaming at the moon.

Ironically enough, after making the tweets against the Fantasy Four, aka "The Squirts Squad," Trump's approval rate according to Rasmussen jumped back to 50%. Voters simply do not like AOC+3. So trying to impeach Trump on the basis of something the voters agreed with him on is sorta like shooting oneself in the foot with a bazooka.

We're just seeing yet another hissy fit by the children in the House. AOC+3 are busy trying to change everything people like about the country, Pelosi is obviously going senile, and Al Green et. al. are just running around in circles like chickens with their heads cut off. 2020 is already lost for them.

TheRedneck

Yep - aware of that, but the House votes to impeach.
The trial takes place in the Senate. The gap between Clinton's impeachment - from the start of the Hosue proceedings to the beginning of the Senate trial was 3 months. The trial took another month.
If Democrats start proceedings in July 2020, they could stretch it out till just after the election and have the media basically major on it for the 3 months up to the election.
This is what I think will happen.

The difference is that McConnell is Majority Leader in the Senate... he can kill the trial before it even begins.

Impeachment itself is meaningless, just like Clinton's was. If there is no removal from office by the Senate, all the House has done is whine.

McConnell has said he will do exactly that.

Removing the president requires a 2/3 majority in the Senate. There's no question that won't happen; probably it would fail to even get a simple majority. McConnell could use a procedural vote to end the removal trial right away.

Right after the 2018 elections, when the Democrats were crowing about taking over the House, I made the statement that they had really done very little to stop Trump's agendas. The Senate is in control when it comes to treaties/trade agreements, and the Senate confirms or denies appointments. I said back then that the worst the House could do is hold up the wall... and it seems Trump has managed to bypass that problem as well.

There are a massive amount of fake superiority complexes circulating in the House right now... thinking there is really anything they can do to stop the inevitable. All their attempts have done is ensure a Trump victory in 2020.

Those women in the Focus group on CNN ate the host alive for her racist angle. I think we will see most women think like those women and not the 4 Horsewomen. That vote was telling that the moderates are ready to move on and do some work.

At this/that point it won't be effective. Like all the "ism cards" the left overplays, impeachment…….meh. Another day, another impeachment proceeding against Trump. If nothing else, the left has done a great job of desensitizing the public on just about every issue they could possibly politically employ. In fact, they have severely damaged support of special interest and minority groups as a whole.

WTHell? Can't this Democrat-led Congress do anything right? They've had a full 6 months. That's 25% of their term...up in smoke. Wasted.

You're talking about the party that gave us (as an ATS member put it so incredibly and insightfully) the four horsefaces of the Apocalypse who in their condemnation broadcast this week reprimanded trump right before saying over and over that he is distracting them from doing the job they were sent to Washington for which is all they have tried to do.

Maybe it's just I, but all I remember is their starting off by accusing the president of sexual harassment, sexual assault, then espionage and working as a Russian double agent then when investigation showed that no, it was actually their people moving on to a serious and merciless attempt to tear a man's family apart by naming him as the predator rapist who held a woman down thirty years ago and gang raping her till it was learned she fabricated the accusation, then trying to get Trump for sexually assaulting the woman he force-kissed which we saw on the video released this last week showing the attack which she is shaken up from and forever changed and traumatized. As far as actually legislating I remember their refusing to participate or being absent on key days. And that is literally just five percent of a long list of similar acts, not a one of them anything that we pay huge salaries and endless free perks as taxpayers for them to be responsible for.

No joke...if it were up to me I would take everyone who chose to join the neverending witch-hunts and make them spend the entire off season till Congress is meeting again the next year in prison for what is nothing short of one conspiracy after another. I mean, it is one of only what, five crimes serious enough we can give the death penalty for (right? Conspiracy, espionage, desertion, murder, attempted murder of a political figure and drug possession and/or distribution...six crimes you can get death for I guess) and they are so full of bravado or delusional invincibility they need the wake up call or they can't even understand just how dangerously they are treading.

I'm sure Trump secretly loves Omar and her little team of Female Furies. They've basically taken over the Democratic party (whether Nancy Pelosi cares to admit it or not), and they're effectively alienating everybody in America who isn't either a flaming racist or a radical Muslim.

The Democrat plan is this:
Start the impeachment process in summer 2020. That will coincide with the election and tie Trump up during the campaign process, dominating the news cycle as a lengthy show trial is ongoing.

All the House can do is an up/down vote to impeach or not.

The trial is in the Senate, which would likely last all of a couple of hours at most, before they refuse to convict.

If this is their plan, then all I can say is... rotflmao!
They are still trying to besmirch the President. Same thing with the Mueller witch trial. The rest of the time they are trying to stop him
From stopping their socialist/communist transformation of our country.

Demoncrats/Liberals who are anti-Trump won't stop. They will continue to lie and claim there is reason for his impeachment. POTUS Trump is not a globalist which it's why so many, including RINOS, targeted him.

Trump has been the brakes on the transformation towards socialism that globalists, like Soros, have been working for for the U.S. I really hope he is re-elected in 2020, but with all the dirty and illegal tactics that we have found the left is willing to use there is a possibility he won't be re-elected. Something has to be done to stop the voter fraud the left want to use so he is not elected again.
