It's nowhere near that simple. He can tell them to declassify anything he wants, but there is a long and very complicated process involved. It will undergo review, they'll have to have people go over every page to make sure the information on each page can be safely released...

That was my point. Some people seem to think all he has to do is tell them to declassify Area 51 and it's suddenly open to the public. There was a rumor 5+ years ago that they were working on releasing one of the programs worked on at Groom that was canceled after a demonstrator was flying out of the base. It still isn't done.

I think they should change the date to Sept. 21st so they can blast this banger on load speakers during the raid.

What, is this amateur hour on ATS this morning???? Wow!

NO, that's NOT what it "basically means"! What it means is, there are places in every country which are off limits to its citizens. This, for reasons of national security and a variety of other reasons. Can you go to live in the house of your president or king? That property is owned by your state/country, but you're not allowed to freely go there anytime you wish. It is not open to the general public. Your country's military exists on state/country owned land, but you can't just walk into one of their bases and just check out what's going on for personal entertainment and fun.

That, is what it "basically means".

Well Norway is no different. Our government treat us like Your government treats you.

The US does what is in the Best interest of the United States Of America. That interst dont have to have anything to do With you as an american. It dosent mean that Your government is doing what is best interest of the People.

Crazily enough, the same people who want to see the fun things that kill inside Area 51 (and thereby start up a new arms race) are the ones who would otherwise lament the present arms race

Could it be possible that those trapped in the base are actually looking for a peace and just as feed up with all the conflict and locked doors going on as we are? Having some more brain power on some of these tougher problems would be a good thing.

What if it is the system that is the problem, it has been entrenched for so long that maybe it is time for an upgrade. The system has been too conflicted to fix its self. Some public pressure to bring in some light is better than letting it all self implode.

I think the US military will deploy alien military units to stop the invasion.

Or deploy the creatures from the underworld.

No one is trapped on the base. There aren't any aliens there, it's just a research base for classified aircraft and systems. I've known people that have been out there and at other remote locations in the area. They go into Vegas fairly often for shows and just to relax.

Actually, it is that simple. I cannot ever remember a President declassifying information without a review (and I'm glad of that!) but it is within Presidential power.

If Trump wants to confide something classified in someone, all he has to say is "It's OK" and the data is available.

I would really worry if he started declassifying information without a review, and I don't think he would; that would be pretty irresponsible IMO. But he does have that power.

You've been watching too much TV.

No one is trapped inside Area 51 (well, except the soldiers; they are 'trapped' wherever they are by contract). Also, the greatest minds available are already there. The government can afford them.

This is nothing more than a top-secret military testing grounds which used to have some very high-tech research into alternate propulsion/weapons systems going on.

It's not just a matter of "read him in" and someone comes over from the Pentagon with a file. If their clearance isn't high enough, they're undergoing an abbreviated background check to get read in to even some of the program. And if something is found, they aren't getting read in.

There's a reason for the rules and checks, and it's a damn good one. The President has the authority to declassify and to have people read in, but it can take weeks to read someone in, and depending on the program, years to declassify it.

Again, that's the way it is done, but not because of some legal requirement. That's a policy (and I agree a damn good one), not a law. The President can change a policy with the stroke of a pen.

All I am saying is that it happens the way it happens only because the President has, thus far, never changed it. I agree with what you're saying, just not that it is somehow a binding requirement.

There's actually an EO that covers classification and declassification procedures.

I wonder how many are going to even show up. I bet it's like a ridiculous fraction of what us projected.

I can't imagine that many unemployed people driving all the way out in the Nevada desert to go Naruto Run/Kyle Charge a top secret base where the Air Force has specifically warned them it will not end well for them. But I could be wrong....

Everybody knows about Area 51s reputation and everyone knows the American public is fascinated by it and has been with PREDJUDICE been denied acess and knowledge...

What if there had never been a nuclear bomb launched against Japan in WWII? Can you imagine if people had never learned how nuclear bombs work? For one thing, we wouldn't be facing off with Iran in the Middle East right now, and North Korea would not be anything near the threat it is.

Now just suppose, just for the lulz, that these's information on a new weapon inside Area 51.

And you want to be the one to introduce it to every bad guy across the planet?

Because you're freakin' curious?

I agree with FlyingClayDisk... it is amateur hour...

If I bring you into my Garage to see my Toys and fun stuff, I am not showing you my porn collection or my stash of gold doubloons......you are going to the far end of a very large spectrum....you don't have to show people everything …..and The People don't expect to see everything...as far as Area 51 being home to a global superweapon....obviously you don't have to show everyone everything....we are all very aware the Government has no obligation to show everything but this is a part of a problem America needs to solve.....National Security does not Trump the Constitution it works within it....for The People not above The People...of course this does not mean making everything available technically.....showing the people a Neutral Dimension Craft is not showing them how to make one or giving the Ruskies---lol---anything critical to work with....it simply shows everyone something cool....we didn't see people building SR-71 Blackbirds or Stealth Fighter/Bombers after we were shown them now did we....as well there is another layer to this onion....look at France busting out the Hovering Special Ops guy....their people are confident in their militaries ability to stay current....from one simple show.....if America shows its people it has an ND Craft then they will be more confident in their stature globally and it ends the UFO questions forever....you are worried about a real issue and it is this....if the Government shows things to the people they might just figure some dangerous things out...lol...like free energy.

Free energy not new weapons will change our world for the better forever.

Have you ever heard of the Super-Cavitating Torpedo?....look it up...research hard..figure out how this weapon was quickly shared amongst the SuperPowers before a War could break out(Kursk)....this weapon gave immediate and total Maritime superiority to whomever owned it....an unstoppable Carrier Killer ..... but it turned out that the technology was quickly shared in various ways...no Superpower can ever gain total superiority for if they do others will pre-emptively wipe them out....if you discover something as big as you describe other Countries MUST ALSO GET IT....or the Global balance of Power will go terminal.....if America shoots down a few Flying Saucers with Chinese markings on them and these Craft can go anywhere they want with impunity .... America will view China much much differently from a Military first -strike perspective......its all about sharing....about balance of power....and as we speak the Super-Cavitating Torpedo is based upon core value concepts that can easily be transferred to air travel....just as the concept/technology allows or faster than normal travel in water it does the same in air when tweaked......and this is how so-called UFOs operate...they slipstream.

Iran and North Korea are a part of a very large spectrum...the extreme end of it....everything is about balance.the Global Community will have to work together to remediate any extreme groups...as we are now seeing in the Strait of H.....America is in the bullpen...and might be there for quite a while as others are stepping up to the plate and into the batters box....... Irans hass may get kicked by a lot more Countries than People think with no big opposition...people always think there will be opposition from a major Superpower but in cases like Iran and North Korea we just might see a Global Block Party where everyone decides they have had enough of the crap and they greenlight each other....

Any Country in the World that applies its resources can find and master these developing technologies simply because the Suppression went on for so long that people who had critical knowledge began to get old and not fear retribution and this point is now PAST US ALL and their data was in many many cases released by them into the public domain before they died...really to be frank the complete data you need to build a UFO is already in the Public Domain many times over and as we all know many have built these technologies but have all been suppressed....the data is available and there is now no way to stop the flood..... its time for Major Superpowers to out the technologies to the world together...just like the SuperCavitating Torpedo this must be shared ASAP.....its the next step....and yes eventually everyone will have this technology.

The next step in Human evolution is not going to be coming from technology it will come from co-operation and remediation of extreme views and dogmas....the needs of the many will always outweigh the needs of the few.

This technology equates to free energy....full stop....the only thing the American Government is hiding is free energy just like Russia and China and Britain and others hide it.....this is a chess game to see how power will be brokered globally once this technology goes mainstream because it is already everywhere and cannot be put back into a box.

We are still in the infancy of the internet...of free data exchange globally....we will one day be in the age of free resource exchange.

Don't push your luck folks. They don't have to shoot you to stop you. Direct Energy Weapons are a thing- Marine Embasy guards have had them for a while. You are not going to want to Naruto run after that.

I love this "Naruto" run stuff!

After your balls get crushed at 1,000 meters the "naruto run" turns into the limping, knee buckling, "my nards have exploded out of my ears!", and now I want a double mocha frappe with a cherry and some tampons, run.

It's gonna' be fun to watch!!

Your metaphor is inappropriate. We are not talking about the military inviting these "stormtroopers" (their word, not mine) into Area 51... we are talking about them storming the compound to gain unfettered access. It is not possible to control what they see while they have unfettered access, so there can be no limiting of information as you propose in your garage example. It would be more appropriate to allow someone to break into your garage and ransack anything they could find... including your porn collection and gold doubloons.

you are worried about a real issue and it is this....if the Government shows things to the people they might just figure some dangerous things out...lol...like free energy.

I seriously doubt they have free energy available. If they do, they hide it quite well.

Have you ever heard of the Super-Cavitating Torpedo?

Yes, I have. The principle does not apply to aeronautics. Supercavitation operates by reducing the pressure behind the object to a point where the medium changes from liquid to gas. Aeronautics concerns flight through a medium which is already a gas.

If you want to go farther, space travel involves flight through a medium which is neither gas nor liquid. Space is the absence of matter. The medium a space vehicle would be flying through is not even understood well. What is matter? that which has mass and therefore gravity. What is mass? A property held by matter which induces gravity. What is gravity? The force which causes matter to attract other matter. It's all just a circular definition.

Iran and North Korea are a part of a very large spectrum

You might want to try looking into international politics a bit more if you believe that. Iran, North Korea, Syria, China, and Russia are all very well connected economically and therefore will fight for the same cause.

Any Country in the World that applies its resources can find and master these developing technologies simply because the Suppression went on for so long that people who had critical knowledge began to get old and not fear retribution...

Then where are all these deathbed confessions?

I have a pretty good idea of what some of the research entailed. I discovered it by accident, however, over-analyzing one of Einstein's theoretical foundations. I believe Einstein himself discovered it as well, and purposely skewed his Unified Field Theory so it doesn't work to hide what he had found. I know he was haunted in later life by the fact that his famous E=mc^2 was the basis for one of the most devastating weapons ever used.

This technology equates to free energy....full stop....the only thing the American Government is hiding is free energy just like Russia and China and Britain and others hide it

O... K...

Exactly how does this free energy work?

You know, being an old fogey and not really knowing what a "Naruto run" is, I had to ask my kids. It's a Hentai style of running with the arms out behind the runner. Now, that's fine and dandy; I have actually seen that in some Hentai movies (I may not be that familiar with all the details, but I do watch a Hentai movie once in a while... it's an interesting art form). But the thing is that running with your arms stretched out behind you might make you look faster, but it doesn't actually speed you up one damn bit!

I would be laughing hysterically at the very thought that stretching one's arms behind them as they run will make them run fast enough to outrun a bullet, except for the fact that I am too busy hanging my head in shame at sharing a genus with these idiots...
