I've been working on a new build. Well.. it's complete! Here is the first flight. The video isn't too technical of a flight. More so just feeling it out! Built this one from scratch. Feels pretty good out of the gate. Little tuning to go, but it flys!

Are you flying by camera? or by sight?
Also, are you in Aus or NZ?

PS great flying.

I fly too. All of mine are currently broken....

Wow. That was a rush. Like an OBE.
Wish I knew how to do this but alas, I am old. Thanks for the really cool experience. Beautiful views.

Very impressive.
Would be more interested in seeing the technical, build info on it though.
I'd love to build one myself rather than one of the rtf drones, I imagine self builds are a ton more satisfying plus all the obvious advantages of knowing your machine inside and out, any tips for beginners?

That's awesome man, great work!

I'm toying with the idea of setting myself up with an RC paraglider, I'm just trying to justify the cost to myself, lol

🙂👌

I'm flying by FPV camera. I wear FatShark FPV goggles.

I located in the US. Connecticut to be exact.

Here is a bit more detail around my build.

Build:
Frame: Armattan Rooster 230mm
FC: Emax Magnum F4 Stack (30A esc | Dshot600)
Motors: EMAX LiteSpec 2206 2300kv
Rx: FrSky XM+ SBUS Mini Receiver
Camera: RunCam Swift 2 Cam 2.3mm (black)
TX: Foxeer 5.8G Lollipop 3 2.5DBi Omni Antenna
Props: Emax Avan Flows
Lipo: Tattu R-Line 4S 1300mah 95C

Radio: FrSky Taranis QX7
GoPro session 5 (1080/60fps)
FPV: FatShark Attitude V3s (Foxeer Pagoda Pro)

I started a couple years back with the Wizard x220 RTF kit. That hooked me into the hobby. Then from there, crashing, fixing, upgrading. Everything I know was learned thereafter. Youtube becomes your best friend.

I have 3 different builds now. This will most likely become my main rig. Just need to polish the tune a bit. Its close.

Thanks for watching! The positive feedback is appreciated!

Doesn't get any better than carbon fibre and CNC milled parts! Very nice, thanks for sharing.

a reply to: BlackIbanez

Frame is 125 grams - I have yet to weigh it flight ready (with battery and go-pro). I'm thinking maybe around 550 to 600 grams. Which isn't much, since each motor is pushing 1400+ grams of thrust.

5600 grams of thrust full throttle on a 550 gram build. That's a solid power to weight ratio!

How much did it cost to build?

Frame : $95
Emax F4 Mag stack : $110
VTX : $20
TX : $20
motors : $80 ($20 each x 4)
fpv cam : $35
battery : $30
props : $5

(395.00 US) give or take. *Not including the GoPro Session 5 I have on it. That would be another $250 there.

^ Thats just the drone - not the cost of everything else required to fly. (Radio / Goggles / ect ..)
