Every poll I see shows these congress ladies are EXTREMELY unpopular. And those are liberal polls. But the media acts like their the superstars of the party! It's hilarious and will catch up to the Dems.

lem. The problem is people who cannot tell what is a lie and what is not without the blessing of their leaders. I never once watched CNN until I had been here on ATS for 8 years. So I started to watch it off and on to see if it was as bad as some here made it out to be. It was not. It has bias and it has an agenda. But I have the ability to distinguish the difference

Wow how can you continue to watch it then? I think one has to be left leaning to appreciate CNN. I cannot watch it... it makes me feel poisoned. I feel poisoned by all the left leaning sites ... I don’t know .. maybe I’m just one of those people who prefer personal liberty than the theft, radical ideologies, totalitarian authoritarian control and radical abortion policies of the Left. But that’s just me.

You are a conservative who admits to feelings, feelings that when expressed as reasons by those on the left that are poo pooed by conservatives. I think basing some of our assessments on our feelings is a good thing but just so that we do not let them rule over us at the expense of critical thought. It ain't easy balancing the two.

I was simply being honest, for whatever that's worth. I don't believe *most* human beings applaud or embrace counter views. Here;s the primary issue from a mile high landscape view: in the last 20-30 years this country's primary "sides" have lined up in arguments and attacks directly on enumerated Constitutional Rights. I don't see or desire compromise there and it strikes me that the majority feels the same. Compromise and bipartisanship in those discussions on Rights have bitten us squarely in the ass everytime. Are "free speech zones" actually free speech? The Constitution's intent almost certainly would have said "no," but compromise said "yes." Are broad restrictions on firearms allowable without infringing? The Constitution says "no," but compromise has allowed infringement after infringement and still demands more of the Right be chipped away. Is a system in which 5 multinational corporations control 82% of the nation's media outlets actually a "free press?" The Constitution would say "absolutely not," but compromise has blessed that distillation of media sources in the name of controlling the narratives. Is a system which has "hate crime" laws with special penalties and enforcements granted to some, not all Americans actually equal protection under the law? Common sense and the Constitution are clear that it is not equal protection, but compromise has said "yes" to it and allowed it to run rampant in the US.

When I look at lawmakers on the Left, I see an enemy, a thief, an oppressor, a slave master, a racist, a murder, a rapist, a liar, an invader, and a drug addict. I don't see an intelligent human being, I see something beneath me, something which I consider myself far better than.

He gave up his salary. As he should. I don't think that that measely little quarter million a year is even an afterthought for a man like Trump. Him giving up that salary is like me going into a dollar store, buying something for 99 cents and dropping the penny in the little cup to use for change.

What that buys him though is publicity, publicity to be traded on the market of what a great public servant he is. Giving up his salary. It's known as a lost leader. Stores do it all the time. Advertise the great savings on one or two particular items to get the consumers in the door. Charge a price that lets them break even for that product all the while getting them to buy other stuff they are selling. That's how I see him giving up his salary.

As for the hatred from the DEms, well sure. Look at how he has treated everybody that has stood in his way to the presidency. He has from the beginning called other Republicans in the debate foul names, poked fun at their appearance and their faces, made fun of crippled people and on and on. No wonder people don't like him.

And of course socialists don't like him, he is the epitome of vulture capitalism. He buys things, puts his name on them and runs them until they drop. For crying out loud, how does a man buy casinos and then lose money from them.

And women, some of the creepy things he has said about women. Do you not thinks they have a case there? And Hollywood, well, he has gotten most of his pre-potus fame from Hollywood as a game show host. Come on now. There is a lot of credence to the notion that had he not had that game show, he never would have been able to get enough backing to be potus. Face recogntion, name recognition, all from the TV and Hollywood.

How's your pocket these days? Trump's policies lined my pockets these past few months...and I'm Canadian.

Now, what TANGIBLE thing has he done for you that makes you so grateful?

I agree & disagree with you at the same time. There is indeed a bright light of intelligence and geopolitical acumen that still shines within America. But it's not the majority....

The majority are broke daily commuters with NOTHING to show for their efforts. Yet, they love Trump despite their lifestyle has not changed one iota.

I guess its true what they say about the apple & tree....

What policies IMPLEMENTED as of today are you are most happy with...?

Point me towards that bright beacon you allude to. Afterall, bright bulbs seem to be a rare thing around those parts in these present times.

But him refusing to accept a salary flies in the face of the narrative that he only became president to fill his coffers.

it's the 'from which they came' bit that is problematic, because most of them came from america.

I'm retaining more of my own earnings than I've retained in nearly a decade, so... Honestly, I have zero complaints about this president's economics. Things haven't been this good since I graduated college.

This was the bright bulb display I was talking about. The headline, not the stuffed suit in the image.

"Hope and change" didn't resonate with or work for me, but this, this gave me hope and the past 3 years have seen that hope fulfilled and nourished.

Why doesn't Trump attack all the members of Congress that are duel citizens Israel/U.S.?

Oh, because his hot trolip daughter is married to a jew and converted to Jewish religion.

Or maybe it's because warhawk John Bilton is duel citizen too...

I don't disagree with much of that Burd. From that post you sound more a constitutionalist rather than a monarchist. I too hold that the framers of the constitution were brilliant and thoughtful men. But right there something seems missing. They were all men, and white men to boot. And men of enough wealth to allow them the financial freedom to spend their time putting it together in the first place.

And for all the compromise you clearly find to be appeasing to those of lesser minds, we should not forget that those framers were also divided on a whole range of issues. Was not the the original hope for a constitution shot down so that the present one was then written and voted on? Those guys we see as the founding fathers could more easily be understood as founding brothers, brothers that were often at each other throats on how to put this nation together. But one thing they managed was to first write and the agree enough on a charter of compromise on how to establish this one nation in a way that has lasted as long as it has. It is a #ing miracle.

Yet to my mind, the essence of a nation is not the laws written in stone by people long dead, people even in their brilliance could not possibly foresee a future such as we have now. How could they? I could barely see this future from my early adult life fifty years ago.

Is a system in which 5 multinational corporations control 82% of the nation's media outlets actually a "free press?"

Hell no. And those guys knew that the tendency towards that kind of centralized ''EVERYTHING'' was one of the greatest threats that we could face. They knew this because they saw a whole slew of men among them that wanted exactly that, control over everything around them. Another miracle was that those ''federalists'' were held in check enough to even get the Constitution ratified.

Burd, I have no answers to the problems we face, I wish I did. In my years I have listened to many who have said that they do and some of them I have believed. I believe them no more.

Finally for this post..

When I look at lawmakers on the Left, I see an enemy, a thief, an oppressor, a slave master, a racist, a murder, a rapist, a liar, an invader, and a drug addict. I don't see an intelligent human being, I see something beneath me, something which I consider myself far better than.

And THAT is exactly how I see Trump though the drug he is addicted to is his own self-laudatory needs. And this observation is not the product that CNN has foist upon me.

Not if it is a lost leader as I mentioned in that earlier post. To him it is a very very small price to pay for him to reap the financial rewards that are and will continue to come his way after he is out of office.

But notice how you have to make things up to explain away this fact.

I get where you are coming from. However, you are putting too much faith into this administration.

I'm glad Hillary didn't win. However, not happy Trump won either.

He will win again in 2020. No doubt. Just be careful...

How's Stephen Miller in your books...? He's even more interesting than Trump....

I have no beef with Miller. Most of what I've heard him say I have agreed with and he seems to be fairly bright.

One party? Your party? Do you mean you do not want the Dems in charge or any rinos in charge, You look for one party of one mind with total control? Are you a monarchist? I guess I can conceive of that but just where to you think that would lead?

I personally think a two party system is needed for balance. What I don’t think is needed is a party that wants to change our laws and the constitution every time it doesn’t fit their agenda. California and NY is a perfect example of this. Look at the laws they have changed or want to change just to get a duly elected president out of office and to keep him off the ballot, it’s BS and it’s wrong. It’s a authoritarian approach to govern if I ever saw one and anyone that disagrees with them is a deplorable, nazi, racist, xenophobe, etc..........

A large part of the dems platform has become one of identity politics for the sole purpose of trying to achieve short term goals to further their agenda in order to implement a long term and singular ideology in the end. It’s very easy to see their game when you start breaking it all down and something I personally want nothing to do with.

America should abolish parties and stop allowing them to divide Americans, they just reinforce tribalism and will lead to conflict once again if we don't end it.

I find it as a sad state of of moral and political affairs, when our racist-in-chief has pulled out all the stops for his reelection campaign for 2020. Despite sincere misgivings from some elected Republicans...the rest have fallen-in with a lockstep fascist jubilation, that quite frankly...boggles the mind.

Though I'm not surprised...given the State of White Nationalism in our country, and throughout the world; along with the abhorrent racist rantings of D.J.T. and others.
