His mansion is on the East Side I believe. The power outage is on the West Side.

Are you saying that this is like how every year the oil companies have an "accident" that causes gas prices to go up right before travel season?

I like the way you think, but I think it's just bad use of funds for the city that never sleeps.

Hillary's laboratory is on the west side. It's connected directly to Commonwealth Edison's main feeder.

Well over 50,000 residents in Louisiana are without power do to tropical storm Barry, but that apparently isn't news worthy.

Blackout happening on the same day of the 1977 New York City Blackout. Gotta love those coincidences.

Reports of people stuck on elevators and subways and citizens directing snarled traffic.

www.foxnews.com...

As of 9 p.m. Saturday, Con Edison reported that more than 45,000 customers were without power in an area that included Midtown Manhattan and the Upper West Side. The New York Fire Department said the outages impacted 71st Street south to 42 Street and east from the West Side Highway to 5th Avenue.

This constant hyper-reporting about the NY outage is crazy drama. Part of the West side in mid Manhattan had a transformer blow and now it is hours and hours of talking about the darkness. Not even breaking for commercials!

Meanwhile, a hurricane, albeit a small one, hits Louisiana, and tens of thousands are without power and dealing with high water issues, and...crickets.

OMG!!!!! A part of Manhattan is dark and the world is falling apart.

Power just came back on.

Subway service, however, will continue to be screwed up for days!

This is a fine example of how fragile out aging infrastructure is, and NY is only one example. I remember a while ago debating in a thread with another ATS member who was advocating that EVERYONE should live in the city. They were adamant about it having everything, and poo-poo'd my statement on the fragility of it all.

Well, here we are. A single transformer in an aging substation burns up, causing a cascading tripping of overload circuits all along the tree.

Yeah, everyone should live here....HAHA. Suburbs and country might get blackouts, but they deal with them a lot better than looting and needing rescue from elevators and subways tunnels underground.
