It's well beyond a joke at this point. The never Trumpers have tried all the tricks they know, a few several times. It just didn't take. But are there repercussions to trying and failing in epic proportions so many time? I believe so. Any real issues related to Trump would be dismissed out of hand by 1. his supporters, and 2. most who aren't afflicted with TDS.

I feel like since so much time is taken challenging the lies, correcting factual inaccuracies, and generally pointing at the idiots and laughing, that very little time is left to scrutinize things Trump actually does. Sure the left and the Never Trump folks snatch any opportunity to strike at his jugular. And as the record shows, they fail with pathetic regularity. But even his base would find things he isn't doing to their liking, given the chance to talk about reality, instead of Russian fantasy.

Should things stay close to the same, it would be hard for Trump to loose the next election. 4 more years of unbridled TDS, might just send some of the more severely afflicted over the edge. And if Russia was to do something, something real, would it get noticed? or would the wolf stroll in unencumbered to feast on the sheep?

I realize this won't happen, but if folks worried about policy, laws, facts, and results, and less about dare I say the Orange man, we might just find that unity that some here want to see, and others fight to vehemently to avoid. But when it's not cool to be patriotic in America, and wrong to wish for a prosperous future, the plot might already be lost. BTW, there is a Russian behind you. *made you look*

I don’t disagree with the point you are making......but you ask for unity yet still divisive.
Kinda makes your point mute.

*sigh*
moot. The word is "moot," not "mute."

ETA: I'm not sure many on this side of this fence are calling for unity. I'm certainly not. I want nothing to do with people stupid enough to propagate the "Orange Man Bad" psychosis. Their shells are cracked and their yolks are dripping out, no need to get that crap on anyone not also leaking fluids onto the discussion. I would, however, love to see people start accepting truths and reality and acting like adults rather than petulant children who still today, nearly 3 full years after the fact, cannot accept the results of a national election and feel entitled to daily temper tantrums and soiling of their diapers just to spite their caretakers.

I'd be fine with unity. But my terms are kind of not up for debate. So unless the left changes it's direction, it just won't happen.

Constitution is the law
Americans can be patriotic in America
Stick with Capitalism for the most part, since it seems to be doing an alright job as opposed to Socialism

I can fully understand folks not liking Trump. I think he's a douche. But I didn't like Obama and only really complained about the ACA when it stripped away my coverage, then charged me for not being able to afford it. Which in my eyes, was a legitimate bitch.

Unity is a pipe dream until we see a drastic change in direction. The right is silent and hiding. They know they have a free ride to do nothing, point at the house and claim their hands are tied. We will have to wait for after the election to get the house back, and then shine some light on why things really don't get done. Until then, orange man bad.

I've been looking at things, issues, through the lens of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

In my opinion, there is no "compromise" with these documents.

Either be on the side of the Constitution, or you're an enemy of the state.

I compromise on what peanut butter or ice cream I will eat. I compromise on what car I might drive. I'll even compromise and watch a program I have no interest in.

But I can never compromise on principles.

I disagree, peanut butter is right there with the Constitution. I'm not compromising.

Give me Extra Chunky peanut butter or give me death.

Lumpy chunks of nuts do not spread equitbly upon bread, bagels, or crackers.

we should not allow lumpy chunks in this Great Country!!

Jelly should ONLY be grape

Just when you think the world can’t get anymore fricken insane you have people not only advocating for Grape jam but calling it jelly.
I don’t know that I want to live on this planet anymore

I believe there are very real repercussions as well.

Im not inclined to believe a damn thing coming from these folks anymore. There has just been too much dishonesty, disingenuousness, and.. well.. stupidity.. for me to take any accusations seriously.

Id even say that Id be quicker to assume "irrefutable" evidence is deep faked than think it has any validity.

Which is ALL a shame, because it has created an environment where criticism of the president is either dismissed out of hand, or gulped down whole. So, the many valid criticisms get lost in the mix.

"But I can never compromise on principles."
THIS.
Too few of us have any worth a damn and even fewer the balls to stick to them.
So, in that we are in total agreement.

Perhaps not the greatest source, (opinions will vary), but I believe Scarface had the best quote on this from my perspective, as it's fitting to me:

"All I have in this world, is my balls and my word.
And I don't break em' for no one, understand?"

My philosophy exactly.

Outside of that, anything besides creamy JIF and you're a caveman IMO.
