"Facebook 'bans' Ukrainian far-right group over 'hate speech' -- but getting rid of it isn't easy."

All I can say for the present moment --- Good riddance...

Well, from reading the article they sound like real scumbags so richly deserve a banning.

Now if we could only get Facebook to ban Democratic Socialists and violent groups like Antifa for their hate speech we might be getting somewhere!

Yay censorship!

Keep cheering on the corporate canceling of your rights because someone you don't like got the boot.

Wait until it's you.

Do you know who really love Azov? Ukrainians ! Is there any reason to believe anything printed in RFERL is less biased and agenda driven than what is printed in any other mullet-wrapper? Nope.

My thoughts, due to general perception of "Ukrainian leaks", over the last yeat - I am sure this is a the DNC telling Facebook what to do. Not sure of the spin, but sure of the hand that makes the spin.

People don't have the right to a Facebook account.

By that logic people don’t have a right to purchase health insurance since they’re private companies. Slippery slope people!

I have frequently been told on here, mainly by US posters, that people don't have a right to health care.

Apparently they do have the right to a Facebook account....

Yep, that would be the posters that lean left saying that. The hypocrisy is funny isn’t it. I already let Facebook know how I feel by selling all my stock last year when this all started. All I’m getting at is it’s just Facebook now, but next it might be banning people from banking or health insurance.

Banks and health insurance can already can choose not to have someone as a customer.

Choosing customers and banning customers over politics is two completely different things.

You know what's really weird?
Back at school [in Germany] I was taught [far too often] how nasty the Nazis were for doing the following:

- Manipulating the News

- Fabricating stuff about Jewish people to make them look bad

- Censoring anything that was going against their ideas

- Burning books [information]

- Made it criminal to have an opposing opinion.

- Hating one group of people so much they can use violence against them and still feel righteous.

I am confused now, this is exactly what the left is doing now, down to a T. As if they are using the Nazi ways as a template.
And yet they call far right people Nazis.

This is so confusing.

Yes, I agree that some speech should be monitored, to see if they ask for violence or worse and if they do, someone should call the Police and have them charged, as it is illegal and actually pretty bad.
This should however include ANY groups that exist and do this. From Antifa and Neo-Nazis to extreme religious groups or cults.

If however only one group is targeted [far right] and they are targeted for the reasons the censors are using themselves [Nazi ways], my brain starts smoking slightly as I can't compute.

So is some Nazi stuff bad and other Nazi stuff good?

Can we all pick and mix?

Are they admitting that whilst they disagree with antisemitism and white supremacy, they really looooove Nazi censorship methods, forced propaganda and hatred against one group [neo-nazis?]

Can they then admit that there was other good stuff Nazis did? Like making the first animal right laws and building the best motorways in the world? Or do you have to hate everything about the Nazis blindly.....apart from.....
their propaganda methods which seem to be ace to the left.
Or is everything nazi bad, in which case their bannings and hatred should also be bad.

Say whaaaaat?

I HATE illogical things.

People tend not to discuss politics on their banks web site.

Would you advocate making publishing all opinions mandatory?

You are right, but this is corporate censorship, it’s new!

And censorship is never good.

Imagine an airline canceling your tickets or a hotel canceling your reservations just because of your political ideology.
