Possible Severe Compromise Incoming

When people talk about and try to define 'conspiracy theory' or 'theorists' , are they using the correct technical terms , semantics, language and rhetoric , to justify the use of the nouns for the processes people who may be called that , might undergo ?

Might they not better be called 'reverse engineers ' , or 'scientific investigators' or 'intelligence analysts' ? Specifically covering the field of 'conspiracy' , which in itself is a proper term .

To call out 'conspiracy theorists' as derogatory term is unfair at best , severely ignorant at worst . It often happens . But they , they're ilk , call 'them' who you like , for it's us , do attempt to explain life in the certain terms we know can well cover the actual processes in the occurence of certain events . 'Conspiracy to murder ' for example is in fact something people can be and have been tried for committing in a court of law and serve sentences for . Does that then make a Judge a conspiracy theorist of sorts , and the lawyers ? Yes . Conspiracies , their theorists , are there to try and solve and then prove , a case . But then they need to speculate , to accumulate , and the facts that count are what 's gathered . It's the reality which is sought ... or the realities .

Now , co-operation , is like conspiracy . Helping each other , say a running a business to get sales , or getting domestic jobs done , is a conspiracy of sorts , with a purpose , a play of events , often an end result , and there are predictable outcomes , players will work in the ways you might expect them to . There may be directors and underscores , histories and subplots , and unknown unknowns may rear up . There's means motives , opportunities , but then there's the unpredicability of the future , and the ' what they would do's of organised operations .

When watching a film , we might call out to the actors , or our friends , at points they need to decide their next move correctly . With superheros it predictable though , isn;t it ? Thats a side note . The point is , whther its cooperation or conspiracy is often decided on whether it's illegal of legal activity , nefarious and dark , or quite openly predictable . We should be getting by now that it's a science of facts whichever is the case , and that to degrade those who might be labelled with the term ' conspiracy theorist ' , is very stupid . Careful who you're ripping off .

That said , and passing by the fact that the name gets applied to randoms who might spout off facts they think they know without heed to existence of lateral reasoning , what other terms would people preferred to be named by ? I'd thought of a good definition for shared areas of interest which is much improved but can't remember it , as of yet. Something about giving definition to the hidden ...

Continuity programmes carried out to perpetuate secrecy sometimes come to the fore in the public eye or via private sources .

Eg the guy who is the landlord of this property is in on the deal , 3 open source proofs later from a series of unfolding events , etc

This is way overthinking it. Conspiracy theories are just a normal thing that people do when there is an absence of complete information. You cannot know what you cannot know. You can only speculate. Conspiracy theorists speculate. Sometimes they're right but usually not. So you kinda get a bad rap when you're always claiming you know something that you don't know to be a fact.

Then not all conspiracy theorists do this. And some of them just might be conspirators themselves, deliberately smearing conspiracy theorists by propagating theories they know to be offensive and absurd. Which they obviously know will not cause a good reaction among the general public. I don't think I have to be specific here but most here can probably think of a couple of conspiracy theories that got out of hand, became more than mere speculation and some people took things too far and well, obviously, the results were not pretty.

Well, no better way to discourage people from speculating than to demonize them, eh?

I love discussing conspiracy theories with people who don't normally venture down that path. I learn more about the person I am conversing with through this medium than any other type of exchange.

I love it when someone labels me as a conspiracy theorist, it puts me at an immediate advantage when they advertise themselves so completely.

It is also very interesting to see someone squirm when confronted with new ideas. They come back with terms like 'uneducated' or 'low IQ' in trying to hold up their world view and the foundation they have built their reality around.

The biggest challenge is to not view these disbelievers with negative feelings but with sorrow.

Maybe, but I still like to point out to people who believe the official 9/11 story that they are conspiracy theorists. The 9/11 Commission Report is essentially a theory about a conspiracy.

It's kind of entertaining to see people who belittle conspiracy theorists realize that they are conspiracy theorists. It's like a blind klansman finding out his wife is black.

It's important not to forget that the term "conspiracy theory" was coined or used and employed by the CIA to bring ridicule upon whomever was blowing the whistle on some kind of dirty thing the CIA was promoting or supporting.

And today, the MSM uses it extensively to defend the most corrupt people of all. And the most corrupt people use this term more often than anyone else, which is no coincidence. For an example Clinton and her defenders used and still use the term daily to deflect those who accuse them of anything. Both Bush's presidents use the term to rubbish investigation aimed at themselves. Only THEY get to have a conspiracy theory, but they call it the official version.

The most corrupt use the term the most often and on purpose. Coming up with a "conspiracy theory" is usually motivated by those seeking the truth within some kind of corrupt event or persons.

Police have been doing it for centuries, but they call it investigation of crimes. Trying to figure out a crime requires some deductive hypothesis.

Criminals call it conspiracy theory.

Yuuuuup!

Some may have noticed that, alongside usurping many other words and phrases, "conspiracy theory" has been intentionally associated with the absurd and ridiculous. Exclusively.

Its interesting to witness.. Once the subject becomes legitimized, many will no longer refer to it as a conspiracy.

The general tactic of weaponizing language has been extremely, extremely effective in so many ways over the past decade or so.

I would argue that this specific phrase has reached some sort of stability in our vernacular, for probably a couple of years. Id also argue that it doesn't really matter what term is used, because its the association of words/phrases & concepts that matter.

There is also something to be said for giving power to the process. When we start to use different terms, it tacitly accepts that the original is correct.

Its the same thing with a word like "liberal," or "nazi," or "racist." There are dozens of words and phrases, though some are more prominent. Even things like "sustainable" and "smart growth" are part of it all.

Dare I say.. Its a conspiracy to shape peoples perceptions while simultaneously distracting them from reality by obfuscating accuracy. When we hear a group like the UN using the word "sustainable," its about as accurate as the religious left calling someone a "racist."

What is derogatory or ignorant about that label?

These folks develop theories, based on information they've gathered, on the genesis or continuation of conspiratorial activities. Sure, many people roll their eyes and spin their finger around their ear when conspiracy theorists extol the virtues of their positions, but it goes with the territory.

Changing the name of the descriptor does not confer prestige, respect or credibility to the person that conducts the activity. It's like changing the name of garbageman to 'sanitation engineer." These people pick up trash cans and dump them into a truck. They're not 'engineering' anything.

Feel-good speech is a placebo that works for a year or two and then it becomes what it was before--but with a different spelling.
