The Star of David is an SA-5 layout used for training. Several of the Soviet/Russian SAM systems are laid out like that, with the command trailer and radar in the center, and the launchers out near the "points".

I believe that is the rocket sled track used to test ejection seats. They fire a capsule down it with a telemetry dummy in the seat, and eject it. I'm not sure it's used much anymore, if at all.

Big, empty area with very little population around. It's the perfect area to test and train in without having to worry about disturbing people with the big booms.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was some kind of retaliation for the US pissing off some other super powers. In some conspiracy circles, there are rumors that a Cold War is being secretly waged here on Earth with the Chinese and US serving as proxy forces for even greater powers. Just look at the weather related news for these two countries over the past two or three months. If this has even a shred of truth to it, then it just shows how ordinary people always wind up getting screwed in these sort of things.
