it's the 'day after' and surprised the rocking is so powerful, like you're on a boat in water and power goes out momentarily.

last only for a few minutes but feels so weird! hardly any up-down movement typical the quakes I'm used to in the area from years ago!

is this natural? I've heard to except 100s of aftershocks.. but what range in magnitude?"

so there were already OVER 100 AFTERSHOCKS in less than the first 24hrs of the July 4th Quake.

mixed in with new, stronger quakes happening in clusters/swarms now.

this can get complicated!

Someone I was playing an online game with mentioned this. 7.1 seems larger than the initial. Could the one yesterday be a foreshock and this the event or could a larger be on tap soon?

Art Bell's old town is the last place anyone would want to be in July without aircon! Hope it's restored for you very soon.

still not the mother of all quakes. that one is predicted to be a real giant. this one as the quake two days ago was a rolling one. but regardless still huge... stay safe people.

if anyone is concerned the nearest volcano is withing 60 miles of Ridgcrest. look it up on the usgs s website..and zoom out a bit.

SO far according the USGS s website, that have been over 1000 aftershocks with many in the 3 and above range. no i dont know what the normal amount of aftershocks are , but since there near an old volcano that has not erupted in abot 40,0000 years, I am a bit concerned. since the volcano is within 40 miles of these two large quakes..

The 6.4 is being called a foreshock to the 7.1. I guess until there is one larger than 7.1
