It's mostly the same Bill the House sent up with a few things like the provision to defund ICE stripped out.

That's my point.

The dems did not lose. The repubs are not the only winners.

The other winnings are the immigrants. Who will now be treated more humanly.

Do they not detain them at the border on the line?

These people that were talking about TURNED THEMSELVES IN AT THE BORDER. They did not cross into america with the intent to avoid our laws. They voluntarily turned themselves in. In accordance with our laws.

Are you claiming that asylum seekers that come to the border are illegal aliens? And should be treated as criminals?

Sorry, your statement would call for knowing the operation of their mind, which you can't know. That makes your statement untrue.

There are about 40,000 granted asylum every year. Last MONTH alone we caught 100,000 crossing into the US. On average 3,000 will be granted asylum. That means 97% of them won't be. That is why they should be held until the end of proceedings.

If Democrats want better conditions they are free to legislate it.

Yes, the immigrants are winners with the Republican plan. AOC and progressives want the immigrants to be losers for political gain.

If they come to the border but DON"T cross it, what law have they broken?

What would one be doing ?
Sightseeing ?
It is not like the "Weeping Wall" or "Dome of the Rock" so a religious journey is most likely out of the question.
Not a very good family picnic area , either.

There is that term " criminal intent"

Denying ignorance
Why ?
Dirty job , but someone has to do it.

Wow just saying aoc name really gets to you doesn't it.

I was never trying to defend her. I just posted what she said about her reasons.
But it doesn't mater . In my view she lost when she voted no.

The same as ANYONE that voted no.

Do you know who voted no? Other then aoc that is.

Ilhar did too I imagine. Saying AOC gets to me doesn't make it true no matter how much you want it to be. She's wrong, the progressives are wrong.

I have said for years Democrats have some good ideas, they have some great people, they are letting their party be hijacked. So yes, I am going to call it out every chance I get, it's the only way the nonsense ends.

The Republican playing politics was saving lives, the Dem version was putting them at risk.

Opinion.

Fact. That is why Democrats were taking a beating politically for their stance.

So you also would label asylum seekers and those that voluntarily turn themselves in at the border as criminals?

The one Republicans wanted. So we agree at least one party was doing something about it.

Since it was a bipartisan vote in congress I would say yes, that was your opinion.

Touche. I will revise, AOC and progressives wanted something where the immigrants would be the losers, and it is my opinion they did so for political gain.

Yes..and they further damaged their "brand" during the debates this week. AOC did all she could to help.

Was the first one a bipartisan vote, the one Democrats tried to push through? Or was the one the Republicans wanted the bipartisan version?

No, I'm talking about the one that both sides voted yes on.

Was there a border bill that ONLY repubs wanted?

is ketsuko wrong when he said.

the provision to defund ICE stripped out.

I read that the provision was to CUT funding NOT defund entirely.

Am I wrong?
