You cannot incarcerate children with adults.

That's Trump's no tolerance policy, locking every Central American migrant up and taking their children as a deterrent. It's created a crisis at the border and within our borders, and now he's using those little kids to try and force Congress to change the immigration law he's violating.

Perhaps that would explain the strange facial appearance.

Trump tried to keep them together, a Democrat judge said he can't.

A judge on Monday refused the Trump administration’s request to change a longstanding federal court settlement so that officials could detain asylum-seeking families together during lengthy immigration proceedings.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee in Los Angeles

The Flores v. Reno case, commonly referred to as the “Flores Settlement,” is a 1997 court ruling that dictates how U.S. immigration deals with minors that have illegally crossed the border.

Just another case of settled law that Trump hates and wants to ignore. Just because Trump wants to incarcerate Central Americans fleeing for their lives.

Easy way to fix it ... send them home. Then they can be together, and they can apply for legal entry from there. They can even apply for asylum from there. No need to worry about being detained by the big, bad US government at all.

So you agree Trump hates to keep them apart, and wanted to change the law to keep them together. But you blame Trump for them being separated despite it having nothing to do with him and admitting he wanted to keep them together.

Only a Dem.

I agree that Trump wanted to create internment camps to house detained families, but can't because of the Flores Settlement. I also agree that Trump hates anything, especially laws, that hamper is attempts at holding people hostage for political reasons.

They can even apply for asylum from there.

No they can't. How many times do you people need to be told? The memory of a gold fish, I tell ya.

To obtain asylum through the affirmative asylum process you must be physically present in the United States. You may apply for asylum status regardless of how you arrived in the United States or your current immigration status.
You must apply for asylum within one year of the date of their last arrival in the United States

Nice thought process. She won a contest held by The Justice Democrats. They also sponsored Omar and the attorney from Michigan. They will keep them rolling on out. The DNC also funds them as Soros funds the DNC. Although that all my come to a halt as she threatened her other Democratic House members. We can say what we say about the Clinton's and Obama but they have kids and they know this country doesn't need her "stuff"

I think his point is change that law. They should be applying from their home country.

Internment camp? Are they forced there from their homes and held against their will and not allowed to return home?

Stop drinking that D flavored kool-aid.

Democratic House members should’ve sat her down and given her a pacifier long ago. The problem they’re dealing with is the main stream media holding her up like the reincarnation of mother Theresa .

That’s where the battle is and for the first time in the last three years.

I’m rooting for the MSM to win that battle .

If you don't want your kids in cages, don't bring them with you when you rob the bank.

How about instead of putting anyone in cages, they just put their butt right back on the other side of the border where they belong.

I bet you said that in 2016 .

How did that work out ?

The divide between the moderate and radical Democrats grows wider by the day.

I can’t wait for the 2020 convention.

I think it’s going to be just as bad if not worse on the floor then the 1968 convention .

And, it's Trump that's refusing to follow the law, and it's why his administration is getting sued by the Border Patrol union for forcing them to break federal and international immigration laws.

Well, that's a blunt lie from you. That lawsuit was in January and it was entirely about the border agents being forced to work without immediate pay during the shutdown. Had nothing, whatsoever, to do with the detention policies or international law. How goddamned little do you think of all of us to sling lies about so freely and not expect to be exposed for them?

That's OK, pretty much none of them qualify for asylum anyhow. They have to prove real persecution by their home governments on some grounds related to them being of a certain group. For example, Chinese Christians and Muslims could qualify seeing as how they actually *do* have real internment camps in China for those groups.

And if we're going with "economic refugee" ... you can apply for that status from your home country.

They are forced from their homes due to violence. They can't return home. They aren't criminals, they aren't dangerous, they're families seeking refuge and sanctuary.

A Revival of Internment Camps? Proposal Floated for Indefinite Family Detention nonprofitquarterly.org...

Leecia Welch, a senior attorney at the National Center for Youth Law, told The Hill, “The Trump administration’s proposed regulations, purporting to implement the Flores settlement, are nothing more than a prescription for the mass internment of children.”

Trump Ghoulishly Opens Former Japanese Internment Camp bipartisanreport.com...

‘The Trump Administration has opted to use an Army base in Oklahoma to hold growing numbers of immigrant children in its custody after running out of room at government shelters.

‘Fort Sill, an 150-year-old installation once used as an internment camp for Japanese-Americans during World War II, has been selected to detain 1,400 children until they can be given to an adult relative, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.’
