Democrats reportedly came up with a list of changes, such as requiring Customs and Border Protection to create health standards for children and adults in custody, including nutrition and hygiene standards, The Hill reported. The Department of Homeland Security would also be required to provide translation services to migrants in shelters.

The new changes would also make it so that migrant children would spend less time at a shelter. In the event that a migrant child cannot be moved to another shelter due to lack of available space, the Department of Health and Human Services would report the situation to Congress and wait to transfer the child until room becomes available.

That's amazing. You rag on this bill and then post, as proof against it, the most common sense, the most logical and humane thing we can expect to be done with children.

They are to spend less time in detention, have higher health and hygiene standards, education and so on.

And you're presenting this as a bad thing? *confused*

As an alternative, what do you suggest be done with these kids being held in sub-human conditions?

Red Herring.

All of that is already "required" by other Departments.

What does this bill have anything to do with the mass deportation of illegals with bench warrants that Trump postponed because Pelosi said this would fix it?

I love it. Liberals are all about not discriminating and yet children, women and minorities all get special treatment. OK. Most minorities. If you're a single white male you're just a piece of garbage as far as they're concerned. They don't want you. They'll take your vote but they don't want to hear you.

Let’s not forget to keep our eye on the ball. The immigration crisis is all about future votes and securing power to eventually do what they want at will. That is the elephant in the room, the immigration issue is a mere symptom of their disease.

That's what makes this sooo hilarious.

The bill, like I said, is not a terrible thing in itself; it just tries to micromanage and oppose Trump's attempts at permanent solutions. But it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the deportation. That is nothing less than Donald Trump following court orders like he is supposed to.

So, he waits two weeks for the Democrats to pass a bill which fixes nothing, puts only a bandaid on a gaping wound, then deports everyone he was going to deport. If the Congress manages to pass a bill that does nothing, like this one does, the problem will still be ongoing for 2020 and the deportations will proceed 14 days behind schedule. If Congress cannot pass a bill, then the Democrats look like obstructionists (again) and the deportations will proceed 14 days behind schedule. If they do manage to pass a good bill, that's a win for Trump and the deportations proceed 14 days behind schedule.

Trump cannot lose this game and the Democrats can, at best, tie.

The Senate has passed their version and apparently many Senate Democrats voted in favor !!!!

So who gets the soap and toothbrush contracts ?πŸ˜€

Senate OKs bipartisan border bill after rejecting 'poison pill' House version, as clock ticks

The Senate on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a bipartisan $4.5 billion bill to combat the escalating humanitarian crisis on the southern border, moments after rejecting a House version over its restrictions on enforcement efforts -- setting up a race to reconcile the two measures before Congress leaves town.

The Senate bill passed 84-8. That vote in the Republican-controlled chamber came minutes after the House version was voted down 55-37.

It's unclear what will come next. The Senate vote could put pressure on the Democrat-controlled House to pass its version before Congress breaks for the July 4 recess. Or the two chambers could try and hash out their differences in what is known as a conference committee.

S.1900 seems to be basically the same bill as H.R.3401, without as much micromanagement and carte blanche foreign aid. So it looks like it's in the Democrats' corner now: which is more important to them? Help the children, or Orange Man Bad?

Time will tell. I honestly expect them to play the resist card until the upcoming recess, then come back and complain about the deportations, saying Trump should have waited on them.

My point is just because trump says something on twitters does not mean that he will be believed.

Trump won't be believed by radical lefties?!? Say it ain't so!

News flash: Trumps twitter feed is for his supporters, and those with an open mind. Radical lefties wouldn't believe anything he said regardless of the medium.

Democrats pass bull# measure aimed at purposely NOT stopping the bleeding, just mopping up some of the blood.

Typical of them!
