Then why were they having mass marches of disobedience and protests all over Iran last year, before the govt shut them down?

No one gets to protest in Iran unless it is sanctioned by the authorities. Unauthorised protests are repressed. Iran is sitting on a demographic time-bomb. Too many young people who don't believe what the flag-burning Ayatollah's stand for, and all their stupid propaganda. Too many young people want to live better lives than what the Iranian authorities think they deserve.

IF we end up at war with iran will you still say that pulling out of the iran nuke deal was the smart move?

Offtopic and just a wild crazy thought: China told nk to wait until a month before the 2020 election to start firing icbms again.

This is rich, considering Iran was a normal first world country with coffee shops and record stores BEFORE the US / CIA overthrew their democratically elected government and installed a puppet dictator in 1953.

They must be removed. There's no need to "obliterate" the country, like President Trump warns. Today's technology can zero in and surgically "remove" the terrorists...one at a time, if need be.

I've heard that one before, and in better circumstances.

So we start doing surgical strikes... They retaliate and hit our assets in the region and now we have war.

Also, are we going to gloss over the fact that their air defense system ain't too shabby? Like this is all going to happen in 2 days with no losses and then we just move on?

Don't forget we literally started their nuclear program in the 60's.

Common theme of propping up sketchy power structures only for it to fall and the same people to be our "enemies" a few decades later.

In other words, Iran's leadership are people who refuse to acknowledge their own lunacy, or the wrongs they do, and wish to be rewarded for that lunacy rather than be sorry for it and become people the rest of the world could respect.

Seems to be a global disease happening worldwide this year.
Sad.

Irans leaders already HAD a negotiated deal that was supposed to end sanctions. American inteligence confirmed that there were in compliance. Thenb Trump tore it up.

How can Iran possibly trust that the US will reduce sanctions if they negotiate a new deal after that?

Washington should call Irans bluff. Drop all sanctions and the demand that Iran come to the negotiating table, otherwise the sanctions will come straight back. Let them see the carrot first, and the stick second. Not the other way round. Play good cop bad cop, not bad cop maybe the good cop will be by later on when his break has finished, well, possibly.

If things were reversed, would America EVER come to the negotiating table without a show of good faith beforehand?

I hope this statement from President Trump today means Iran's leadership will be "obliterated".

Iran is dashing President Trump's hopes that sanctions will restart negotiations, like they did between the U.S. and North Korea:

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a tweet today that the new U.S. sanctions that target Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other Iranian officials permanently end any chance of diplomacy between countries.

Abbas Mousavi took to Twitter to call out President Trump’s latest decision to impose additional sanctions and said the sanctions means “closing channel of diplomacy forever."

The comment was followed by Iranian President Rouhani, who mocked the White House and said it is "afflicted by mental retardation." Rouhani spoke live in a televised address on Tuesday.
More at: www.foxnews.com...

It's a well-known fact that sanctions only hurt average citizens. We get upset when 1 immigrant child dies at the US-Mexican border, yet many are dying in Iran, due to the harsh sanctions we've imposed on their country.

What's needed in Iran is "normal" leadership that doesn't export murder and terror all over the world.

What should the U.S. and global community do to effect that change, with minimal bloodshed?

I say "drone" top leaders, and let the people choose their President via a national election. How about you?

"forever"? Hell yeah every future administration should stick to that till the end of the world. Forever means forever.

I like the rules on the Georgia guidestones, so let's implement a NWO, take out all the rebel leaders introduce a worldwide monetary system and restrict females to 2 kids, which will see depopulation.

And then we can all come together as one

And kill the Illuminati, unless they share those secrets.

It’s come to light in recent years that it was the Brits who goaded the CIA into staging the coup.
