‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ at Washington state libraries attracts protesters

SPOKANE, Wash. — As children and their parents lined up to get inside the South Hill Library here, hundreds of protesters and counter-protesters faced off in front of the building waving signs at one another and trying to drown out each other’s chants and jeers.

religionnews.com...

I thought this would be a fun topic to turn up!

People are protesting this at libraries.

Well, don't go to the library during "Drag Queen Story Hour" if you don't like it!

PEOPLE!

We HAVE to stop banning, censoring things just because you don't like it!

DAMN!

Grow a pair! Man up!

Grow up!

The world does not revolve around you!

JESUS!

Yeah, Jesus would have probably hung out with the drag queens. But NOOOO-ooooooo-OOOOOO! You freak out if someone is different or has a different belief.

You are no better than the evil communist leftists who ban people just because of Trump!

Not my monkeys---not my circus.

Parents still screwing up their children in 2019 and not having a clue. But, wow! Look how open and inclusive they are!

I wonder what the suicide rate will be, say, 20-25 years from now.

Right now the high rate of suicide is with young people, but lets digress and talk about trans people instead.

It is the latest in a troubling trend of reports showing more men and women, in nearly all states and across various racial and ethnic groups, dying by suicide. Experts say it's a public health crisis.

Among adolescents and young adults, researchers point to the growing use of social media and the proliferation of smartphones, which may increase cyberbullying and lead to feelings of loneliness, but research on the topic is still divided.

I think I saw my mom dressed as my dad yelling at a woman dressed as a man who wanted to be my mom.

But I could be wrong.

I thought for sure this was going to be about the snipers:

Snipers Defend Drag Queen Story Hour From Mom-Led Protest

A SWAT team of two snipers was stationed on the roof of a public library in Spokane, Washington June 15. Their mission, along with 30-40 police officers, was to defend Drag Queen Story Hour from 300 concerned mothers and allies protesting the event.

The snipers, decked out in camouflage, were photographed on the roof of the library monitoring the protesting mothers with binoculars.

So the snipers were needed because of threats made by protesters of the event... which of course the protesters deny:

Bohach told the Caller a city councilman informed her the snipers were from a SWAT team. She believes the significant armed presence for the story hour could be a result of the counter-protest organization, 500 Drag Queen Strong, filing false police reports that her group made death threats against them.

It wouldn't surprise me if threats were flying both ways.

I wouldn't take my kids to this... I'm not sure it's appropriate for a public facility to sponsor it... But since it is happening, I sure hope they're doing background checks and otherwise safeguarding these kids from predators.

I wouldn't take my kids to it either.

But then again, if anyone wants to read to my children, I was always someone who would do it personally.

But then they would miss seeing the lovely "gal" in the blue fuzzy half-strapless dress with the two giant eyeballs on her "tits". (Graphic from your OP link).

I dont care If drag queens read to kids but remember this story

www.dailywire.com...

So I'm not really surprised when people treat dragqueens like card carrying members of NAMBLA

Freedom sometimes means we have to accept the fact that weird people will be weird.

But AS a parent, I have the ability to determine what my child(ren) have access to.

Ultimately it should be the parents responsibility.

But to ban it denies the availability of people who do want that kind of exposure.

I agree. They should not be banned. But vetted? Absolutely.

If people don't like drag queens reading to the kids at the library maybe instead of pitching a fit about it they should step up to the plate and volunteer to read to the kids themselves! Who cares as long as somebody cares enough to make time for the children?

We had to start our own knit and crochet forum and we're busy finalizing the pattern for our new Trump tuque to be worn on election day 2020.
