Silencing opinions because you consider them hate is a perfect example of very small thinking.

So you think giving a platform for hate is ok or not ok? I mean the way you joke about swastikas makes it seem like you are ok for idiots to post garbage on a hobby forum.

I hope you are alright after that stretching exercise, you can get hurt like that. Now, on to what I didn't say.

On a private site, where the owners of the site make the rules, (like here), I think the owners of the site have complete control over what they want to show, post, and discuss. If ATS wants to only talk about Bernie Sanders and his wonderful socialistic plans for the future, the owners have that right, and all who don't want that discussion will go somewhere else.

I believe that when free speech is hampered, it's time to question who gets to make the decisions on what is allowed and what isn't. I'm for free speech. Even if I don't like it.

Now, onto my personal views on Nazis, swastikas, and leftists idiots. I don't like any of them. I think all three are equally stupid, and deserve equal ridicule from me. Living in a place where at lest right now, I have the freedom to say things like that, I will continue to believe that, and to stand up for whomever wishes to speak. Even you.

Now, why don't you tell us all why you are for authoritarian governments, hate free speech, and embrace communism. (that is what you meant, right?)

Hate speech targeted at certain people are not opinions.

So when anti-Trumpers target Trump supporters, it's not opinions but hate speech?

Speech you hate hearing isn't necessarily hate speech too.

The rules of that site car clearly laid out.

Topics - political or religious discussions: These are off topic for the main boards and will typically be locked and archived. Please note that there are many groups on Ravelry that may be happy to host discussions on these topics.

Community Guidelines: We take the Community Guidelines seriously. Please familiarize yourself with them. If you publish a post that violates the guidelines, your post will be deleted and you will be blocked from further posting in the thread. Note that “No personal attacks” and “No hate speech” in particular are often misinterpreted and misunderstood - do read the definitions that are provided in the Guidelines.

www.ravelry.com...

Rules are rules and they define what is hate speech and what are considered to be personal attacks.

Banning it as white supremacist though? If Bernie or Biden get elected, will they ban those discussions as white supremacist or just political?

What is hateful to you may not be hateful to others.

Hate is subjective.

Much like how you equating Trump supporters to swastikas can be perceived as hate from "certain people".

When it comes to that site, what they consider hate is clearly laid out in the rules.

What can this picture possibly represent?

Every time they talk down to those of us who did not vote for Hillary and imply that makes us hateful, racist, misogynist, etc., + any and every other epithet they can think of ... sort of like a wife beater trying to beat his wife into submission ... I feel like they hate us. It feels a lot like hate speech to me. Perhaps we should ban most of the popular culture and press for hate speech?

Of course, since we believe in the spirit of free speech and not the mere letter, they are secure in their bigotry and open hatred, and it lets us know what @ssholes they all really are. And whomever they support for election, I know is most likely not worth examining too deeply.

A Bernie supporter shot up a baseball field filled with representatives.... Every ideology has their lunatics, but that doesn't mean you should use them to paint the whole.

Someone exercising their rights the same way you are when you want to label them "hateful".

It's called free expression.

Or are you trying to imply that one MAGA hat wearing swastika arm-bandit is a representation of all Trump supporters as a whole?

Yep, the boogieman under your bed.

This, I know, has been explained to you many, many times.

Currently, unless they are actual criminals, people like this guy get to vote just like you and me and communists who live in this country and will almost certainly vote against the COTUS and anything and everything American and probalby vote progressive for that reason.

Those people, just like you and I and the communists (and ANTIFA thugs, btw) do what we all do ... we evaluate our choices and vote based on which candidate is most likely to be aligned with what we want in this country. That means right now that the people like ANTIFA thugs who chunk you upside the head with bikelocks have a 50% chance roughly of voting just like *YOU*! And the same goes for the wonderful idiot you pictured above.

So it's a crapshoot really, and because they can vote if they're American citizens, it is what it is.

Old Fred Phelps ran as a democrat for office before he got into he picketing schtick, but you don't hear about that much. Unsavory folks are about as likely to be progressively oriented as they are opting for the other side and some flip-flop.
