Then add a %... after the fact

why can't they just tell people how much something costs FFS!!

I just don't understand this concept of buying....

IF theres tax... add it to the F*****G price!!

Here in the USA (specific to California for this response), we have a sales tax, which is consistent, except on certain items like prepared food (less or none), and dictated by county.
For me, at least, it's not hard to add 10% to the product to get close to the final bill.
I assume others are able to do similar calculations?

Because they want you to blame the government for the final price.

Strange. Just yesterday my friend talked about what you described regarding Canada. I replied something like "Then it would be impossible for me to go grocery shopping, i can't count in my head too well, when there are decimals, and i am always on a tight budget"

Here the price you see on the price tag, is the final price have to pay.

I just had to post this because i have never heard of this before, but now two times in 1 or 2 days.

You have to whinge and whine because you are so mistreated... look around you self important people... there are others who suffer big time throughout the world.

Pathetic whiners and whingers really piss me off... and I’m in a wheelchair compared to 6 months ago... hear me whinge and whine...?

Hehe

I feel great respect towards Canada. A modern, civilized country
And they invented Ice hockey!

But this little bug in the system, mentioned by the OP, seems really unpractical from my viewpoint.

What about the elderly people? Are they supposed to have a smart phone, or just a calculator, just to know if they have enough money for the goods purchased, even at the counter when it is payment time
They might have a hard time going to the shop in the first place?

Here in South Africa the tax (15%) is usually included unless it specifies Ex VAT.
Meaning - excluding value added tax.

Our people are not smart enough to add 15% to everything, if they were to start listing prices in shops ‘Ex VAT’ there will be fights and deaths.

Gotta love Africa.

Oh ya sales tax sucks.
The worst is when your used to that 13% percent tax, then you go to another province and their tax system is different.
So you're digging through your pockets trying to find the proper change because you don't want to seem like some degenerate

We outlawed the penny, so everything gets rounded to the nearest 5 cents.
So sometimes you're actually paying a couple of cents more with the sales tax and the rounding system.
