In other words...the Left, collectively, already DOESN'T "align with those in power, or their talking heads...".

Do you agree with that?

While I can't speak for a group I'm not a part of, I think Americans for the most part have felt distant from the establishment enteties in politics.

Today, Leftists are criticizing him for his cool-headedness and restraint.

They are not criticizing him for his koolaid headedness. They are criticizing him for lying again.

First of all he said he asked about casualties.... he never did. That would have been presented to him along with all the plans. Possible casualties are always discussed ahead of any action.
And the fact he noted for us that the drone had no men or women aboard tells me he has no clue what hardware is even at his command.

I am very embarrassed by how the man handles anything. He is a true rabble rouser.

I wonder what chances trump would have for reelection if he was at the helm for a war with iran?

my favorite theory so far: There was never a counter strike that was waiting to happen. The entire episode was created to produce a hero's response in these times of lagging approval.

Once he is ordained again in 2020, interesting times will be at hand.

Lagging approval for the D's yep but not DJT. I bet you don't see how many people stand outside wanting in those full venues wanting to see POTUS 45?
Have you seen the black community support raising, I have?

Only someone ignoring that reality could say "lagging approval".

Man, that scares me the most. I do see the crowds he draws. He is in a class of his own compared to everyone in his field. After almost 4 years people are still mesmerized by the words flowing from his mouth and never bothering to look at his actions or lack thereof.

That speaks to the power of the message itself. The first supported politician that is allowed to say all of the right words of a return to sanity. That itself shows the true numbers out there. The number of people that would love to have our border secured and our troops brought home is immense. The number of people that support a bigger more intrusive government along with the bloodlust of invading other countries is probably a small minority. But with the spotlight of main stream, this small segment is launched into largeness.

I just wish that people would start looking at these politician's actions for once. We are not going to be saved by a hero.

I see it from the right, that they are mad he didn't bomb Iran. Not the left.

And Trump probably lied about the changing his mind right before the attack, gives him an excuse to not attack and makes him look better to his followers.

Even past military generals have said the same thing, that he probably lied about learning 150 would die and then changing his mind.

Good to see you're not taking the opportunity of Trump NOT killing 150+ Iranians...to criticize him.

Admit it, Silly.

If the strike went through...and the next day, CNN was showing nonstop video of weeping Iranian mothers and hundreds of dead and mangled young Iranian bodies...you'd be joining your beloved MSNBC in screaming how 'Trump the Warmonger' just started WW3 over an unmanned piece of machinery.

You may be glad (like me) that nobody was killed...but you're disappointed you didn't get that chance to blame and accuse him over starting a war.

Hmmm... Is not also true that War is what happens when politicians DO do their jobs... It is clear that many get paid to do just that...

When reading his tweets regarding this Iran incident, there does seem to be something "off" with it. Sorta... like he's lying lol.

Like he's trying too hard to mold his tweets in a way that tries to make himself look good for not bombing Iran. Not bombing Iran shouldn't deserve praise, and not killing 150 people shouldn't deserve praise either. It's sorta just how it should be, and shouldn't deserve a "Thanks" lol.

I understand what you're saying but I believe exhibiting restraint and cool-headedness under pressure IS praiseworthy.

both the Trump Core Administration And the Left-Progressive-Socialist-Democrats are playing One-Ups-Man-Ship

Fault will be leveled at whatever direction the future takes diplomacy/sanctions vs combat/precision targeting of strategic facilities

the Left/Deep State (along with #44s holdovers with Un-American motives) have compromised National Security by letting Iran Privy to the early list of 'Target Sites-in-Iran & possibly elsewhere'... undoubtedly too many people in the 'Need-to-know' universe (re: joint chiefs of staff conglomeration that includes various Congress oversight committee personnel, ad nauseum)

I think people can still be critical of Trump without us assuming all of them are "disappointed" he didn't strike Iran. Are a minority sad they didn't have more fodder? Probably.

Would a minority of his supporters that are celebrating his restraint defend him and say it was the right move if he had struck? Yup.

But I know there are plenty on ATS that support him who support him who would have criticized him had he struck. Because they are more concerned about honesty and ramifications on our country than providing lip service to party.

But we are going to saved by a message.

Someone delivers the message, and it is seen as valuable in many eyes. Worth consideration of all. Then, the change is happening with or without the messenger. The messenger is just that and if it is true it has a way to survive and to be way more than the person delivering the message. That is why Freedom of Speech is the chance for the truth to be said by those that can prove it. Freedom of the enemies of our society to speak should not cause us to lose focus on free speech.

I will take any opportunity given to criticize trump. You should know that by now.

The problem is that there is never any lack of material.
He gives me something new to criticize every day.

I bet the cool headedness came from someone other than trump.
He was ready to let the missiles fly. Ready to be the big tough cheese.
Then he was checked by cooler heads in the white house.
