Who here can read lips - even a little bit? Looking at a Youtube blogger - is this legit?

I keep getting this youtube channel in my suggestions and I don't really watch it unless there is an intersting video/topic, but they seem to really be pushing it for some reason and it's a conservative/alt-right channel. While watching it today I noticed that his mouth did not match up anywhere near close to what hewas saying, it seemed like his mouth was moving but he "wasn't saying anything" meaning it didn't have the hundreds of micro expressions that happen when you enunciate specific words and there are many distinct words which can not be "heard" by looking at his lips.

IMHO, the first & last words of a sentence before or after a pause are the only words that seem to match even a little bit, the rest looks like a mish-mash of mouth movement. Can anyone who read lips look at this and tell me what you think? Does anyone think the voice matches up to the mouth movement?

Sometimes there is a timing error, the audio is out of sync with the vid.
I'll watch it when I have audio, and see if that is the case.

That’s Tim pool. He is a lefty by a long shot. What makes you think he’s conservative?

Really, I've read most of the video titles and it always seemed as if they were very right leaning.

I am watching another video and maybe it was that video's syncing. But even after looking at other video's I see the same problems, but some are more pronounced than others. I've noticed this on a number of YT channels and maybe it is the frame rate, where if it is 10 or 15 frames per second vs 25/30 frames per second, I'm guessing that reading lips might be thrown off with the lower frame rate.

He started in vice news as their lefty corespondent, he’s just not as left as the crazy left, and he calls them out on the crazy, so they all hate on him and call him alt right. Which is pretty much anyone who is not crazy left socialist at this point.

He describes himself as classical liberal, Which is now conservative light. He’s a half korean atheist who thinks people should have the right to have abortions, being gay is ok, trans rights, free speech and no censorship on youtube unless you are actually breaking the law.

He talks out against drag kids, youtube censorship of both sides, sjw craziness, and other stupid things coming from both sides. I actually think he is mostly reasonable. He is doing good commentary of current news articles and stories on a slightly better than shoestring budget.

So, firstly, I didn't watch the video you posted, though I did click on it to confirm the source.

Secondly, I actually watch just about all of Tim's videos, I've never seen one that didn't seem to be A/V synced.

It's actually scary to think that Tim could be assumed to be "alt right"...The running joke is he's a centrist(left leaning) libertarian that is constantly being red pilled while never actually swallowing it.

Really scary times that anyone, especially you, would think it's some form of "deep fake" where other words are being put into his milquetoast(his words) mouth.

Tim's as far left as I watch, and he's on the ball for the most part.

Seems the MSM is succeeding in it's attempt to discredit ANY non sanctioned(big money) news outlet.

Tim is where the dems should be, hes a "never trumper" that still has some sense of sanity.

Considering that so many view him as "alt right" confirms his prediction that Civil War 2.0 is just around the corners.

It's both sad and a bit scary at the same time. He was a bernie supporter last election, yet now he's some alt right nationalist by the extreme lefts standards.

I feel bad for him, he has some brain cells firing and is a hard core democrat. Meanwhile the party has left him so far behind he's a "nazi" by their standards.

Spoiler, milkshakes and soy neck beards won't save the loony left. People like tim(a large majority of centrist and center dems) will run from their level of insanity when the bullets start to fly.

But I have to say, normally you are on the ball Diggin, Have you watched any of tim's videos? 10, 20,100 of them, seems so strange for you to bring this forward as some sort if "disinfo", maybe I'm wrong.

You don't shy away from ANY topic, so what made you question it. What made you shy away from facts(which tim is beholden to, for good or bad) and go the route of seeking a lip reader on this.

Sounds like you have a # computer or internet service.

Clear you cache, cookies and maybe defrag your harddrive(is it solid state or a a spinner). I've been watching him daily for years. NEVER any issues with video/audio timing.

I've watched a number of video's of his, though truthfully I don't "watch" them so much as listen and this time I actually focused on the video and there was just something really odd about his face and mouth in the video that made me focus on it, I actually do think that it might be the frames per second issue which will basically drop frames or replay some frames 2x in a row, which helps compression and loading times. In most video's it's not noticeable but if there is video that isn't sync'd very well, I'm guessing it would be even more noticeable.

As far as me thinking he was alt-right, I guess I thought that b/c I heard him make that claim, maybe because he is accused of it - I didn't really mean that he was, more that it was "labeled" as such by youtube. we know that anyone right of far left seems to fall into that catagory these days.

I wasn't necessarily saying it was a "deep fake" but maybe an edited audio overlay or something. Since YT splits the audio and video streams of the video's, it's not completely implausible that some video's COULD have an altered audio track over-layed on top of the original video and those watching it would never know.

As for the classification/forum, it was a toss up of where to put it and I didn't mean to say that HE was serving up dis-information, but possibly from the platform if it was even happening at all.

It's certainly not the hardware that's limiting the video, I can guarantee that. I know there are major issues with loading YT on my ISP which is why I often just download the video (from command line) and watch it on VLC b/c it doesn't buffer and I get full res. If I watch in a browser I'm often limited to about 1/8 my bandwidth and get pauses & buffering. It's certainly an ISP issue - it happens on a lot of sites unfortunately.

Well I have to thank everyone for pointing out that Tim really isn't alt-right. I don't listen to him enough to know his stance but I did remember seeing him either questioning or out right opposing what the left was pushing. On top of that I could have sworn I heard him call himself "alt right" before, but maybe he was only explaining that he was being labeled "alt right" by the left - and how ridiculous that is. Either way, I'm glad that's cleared up for me and I still am not sure what was going on with the video. I'm going to download it and watch it so it doesn't have to stream and see if it is still funky IMO.

His audio is 2-3 frames out of sync.... could also be that he filmed in a frame rare that doesnt match his audio recording... fx video in 30 fps will mess up with 48khz audio
