Seriously? And these people are running our country?

Does it surprise anybody when the only requirement to be a U.S politician is to be rich and nothing else?

Imagine if applying to be a politician required skills and experience like every other job to get it. What a different landscape we'd have these days.

Alas it's never going to change because all people do is expect other corrupt politicians to fix the problems instead of getting off their backsides and doing something about it themselves.

Systems broke and you cannot fix broken with more broken. But that's exactly what voting for the same 2 parties and politiicians in the same elections over and over is doing.

It'll remain this way until people realise their vote really does not matter. Every time you vote and nothing else you're playing their game.

Give it another 4 years or another 40. Swamp will still be full until the citizens decide to do something about it themselves.

Hacking involves getting into to resources from outside the system.

This dude was an insider.....he had access, and he physically stole other peoples credentials.

Apples and oranges.

For instance: In his notes, he had "wipe down computers". How many hackers do you know that physically break into to a place to remove fingerprints after hacking into said computer? And why would they? No fingerprints because they were never physically there.

Silly does not care. Lives by the hammer and sickle. Has true Trump Derangement Syndrome. The collapse of this great republic would be the highlight of Silly's life.

Yeah, you want to go? Afterwards, you can make me a Ham'n'cheese sammich barefoot in the kitchen.

The plot of our movie is about a Democrat operative seeking to damage his parties oppositions for glory and prestige among the upper ranks of the Democrat elite.
However, not all is what it seems and the operative finds that he has bit off more than he can chew in this harrowing thriller...

Even after Cosko was arrested and a computer was quarantined, Capitol Police and Senate employees did not realize that keylogger devices were plugged in to many of the office’s computers, according to prosecutors. The devices continued to beam every keystroke — including passwords to personal and business accounts — over a WiFi signal that could be accessed from the public hallway.

The Senate later realized that it was still being spied on only because Cosko informed government agents of the devices, the memo says. Police still have been unable to detect the devices’s WiFi signals, making it impossible to rule out that they aren’t plugged in elsewhere in Congress.

Give this book about the inner workings of HIllary's campaign a read. It's insane how childish, petty, and unprofessional people at the top levels of a major party campaign for the presidency can be. These really are the people running our country. Your local high school student government is probably more mature and professional.

Amen to that brother. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan for starters on the Republican side. Cant take time to write all the Dems to mention. Sad.

True that. We're witnessing in real time how democracies fail. They fail because the elected leaders (Congress in our case) become so obviously corrupt and worthless that there's really no longer any reason to keep them around.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, that'll get the Senate to start taking security SERIOULSY.

I mean, if a Dem staffer pulled this off, what do you think a Chinese spy on Fienstiens payroll might have done???

That depends upon how much of a $$$ kickback she got for "allowing" it to happen with a blind eye.

you'd be amazed at how often 'hacking' is done by the person being present. It's often much easier than trying to remotely access computers via the internet.

No fire walls and security to deal with, and you'd be amazed at how many places keep passwords and usernames on sticky notes behind the desk.

I did some work for a psychologist once, upgraded his PC's for him. Behind his receptionists desk was about 20 post-it's with various logins, some to access patients records via medical databases. would of taken all of 2 seconds for someone to walk behind her desk, whip out the phone and take a photo.
I have seen so many businesses like this one.

It's people thinking hackers are people sitting in a dark basement with a bunch of computers doing everything through phone lines that makes people complacent and makes life so much easier for people like Cosko to do what he did.

My whole time service and civilian government work we were always taught that the biggest computer is insider threat.... but it still happens. Not much you can do when it is the IT Admin or one of the IT workers who have....as security liked to call it...the keys to the kingdom

I cannot believe the lack of thoroughness and ineptness displayed in this case. This is being called the "largest data theft in Senate history".

Unacceptable!

We really really need to look at these particular Congresswomen:

1 - Senator Maggie Hassan (D) New Hampshire: She hired him even though he had a criminal record. AND, she hired him about the same time the scandal was going on regarding the Awan brothers and that IT abuse. Why would she do that?

Before any of this trouble began, Cosko already had felony run-ins with the law attributed to drug addiction. Nonetheless, Hassan hired him as computer systems administrator, which prosecutors said gave him the “keys to the electronic kingdom … the sysadmin becomes the ultimate insider threat.” She hired him in early 2017, the same time period during which a different scandal involving congressional IT aides abusing their positions was breaking in the House.

Then she fired him in May of 2018 for something related to "performance issues".

2 - Sheila Jackson Lee (D) Texas: She wasted no time in hiring him. SJL is one of the most unethical corrupt senators in the Senate. She has been called up on ethical violations many times, but, yet, there she is being elected year after year by the Houston inner city district she "serves".

Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas gave him an unpaid position, apparently without calling Hassan’s office as a reference check. The idea of a 27-year-old man who was working in a specialized role in the upper chamber suddenly taking an unpaid “internship” in the lower chamber didn’t seem to set off red flags for Jackson Lee.

IMO, the fact this guy is an unethical sleazebag with no scruples, is probably the very reason SJL grabbed him up. She is as dirty as they come, imo. BTW, SJL is the one that slipped a note to Blasey-Ford's attorney during a break in the confirmation hearing of Brett Kavanaugh. He grabbed it, stuck it in his pocket hurriedly, and didn't even glace at it. But, the cameras caught it. I'm sure SJL had some lame answer for what it was when asked about it. I don't think lying is foreign to her.

Cosko was using the computers in Sheila Jackson Lee's office to gather the private information on the Republicans sitting on the Judiciary Committee and to dox them.

3 - Dianne Feinstein (D) CA: He worked for her at one time. Imagine that.

Feinstein was the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee during the nomination, and played a critical role in shepherding sexual harassment allegations against Kavanaugh.

4 - Barbara Boxer (D) CA (retired): Cosko also served in her office.

Cosko is the son of a millionaire real estate developer who was the head of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and who has ties to California Sen. Dianne Feinstein and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He previously served in the offices of Feinstein and California Sen. Barbara Boxer.

5 - I'm going to throw Maxine Waters in this mix also just because the initial investigation pointed to her office. Even though it was eventually shown to be Jackson Lee's office, my gut tells me Waters was probably in the mix somewhere. Plus, she's not the most ethical either.

Okay....so he is connected to major Democrat senators. He isn't exactly a law-abiding ethical individual and he has a past history with drugs and alcohol....just the type that get hired to do underhanded dirty deeds for the big shots so they don't get implicated.

These senators who sit on some of the most important committees in government didn't vet this guy, a man who would have IT access and know how to do some serious damage?!!

But that's not all! Capitol Police missed key evidence. Even after this guy was arrested, "....Six different computers within steps of where he was arrested in the Senate had keylogger devices in them that continued to capture and beam private information over WiFi. They were only exposed through a confession".

Blunders by Democrats and Capitol Police

If the above is not enough to make you just shake your head at the absolute nonchalance of these Senators, here's another to add.

Jackson Cosko's accomplice, Samantha DeForest-Davis, was also arrested later.

Cosko was arrested Oct. 3, 2018, and lied to police in two interviews before eventually agreeing to cooperate and implicating Deforest-Davis, prosecutors said in court Wednesday. As a result, she was fired from the Senate Dec. 19, 2018, according to payroll records.

On Jan. 18, a case against her became visible in online federal court records, titled USA v. DEFOREST-DAVIS, and was one of the first results to come up when her name was searched on Google.

Now get this! Eight days later another Democrat female Congresswoman,Abigail Spanberger (D) Virginia, hired Deforest-Davis. This Rep is a former CIA agent and didn't even bother to get a job reference or even Google her name!

And what committee does this rep sit on?

Spanberger is a member of the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee, which deals with information of interest to America’s adversaries.

Capitol Police continued to drop the ball.

Capitol Police spokeswoman Eva Malecki did not respond to a request to explain why it did not alert Spanberger that the House’s newest pending hire was a suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation.
