Billionaire fugitive financier Marc Rich has informed congressional investigators that he only played a limited role in the program. He further denies he knew anything about money being diverted to Saddam Hussein or the bribery schemes. However despite past denials, his company was authorized to buy and sell oil under the program. Rich was pardoned by then President Bill Clinton in a move that stirred controversy at the time.

NEW YORK — Billionaire fugitive financer Marc Rich has declared to congressional investigators probing the Oil-for-Food scandal that he had a limited role in the program and knew nothing about Saddam Hussein's bribery schemes.

But Rich, who currently lives in Switzerland, recently confirmed what his own company would not admit to FOX News last year — that he was authorized to buy and sell oil as part of the billion-dollar U.N. program.

He personally replied to written questions submitted to him by the House International Relations Committee through the Swiss Embassy earlier this week.

You have to wonder if some of the aspects Rich was pardoned for wee his Iraq activities. The bribery involved with the pardon of rich and involving presidential wannabe Hillary Clinton's brother was simply disgusting. I also find it hard to belive that Rich's company was buying and selling oil with Saddam and no graft was involved. Yet another skeleton in the Clinton closet.
