Guess someone thinks 'based on true events' means something.

When discussing the historical implications it does. These things happened despite the Triggly Puffs wishing it didn't.

Shhhhh….it'll be okay. The bad guys, the corrupt cops, will lose and the citizens will win. This is a fact.

Whatever you say.

In this fictional account, Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr. Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.

I just watched it and it wasn't as bad as you think. Zendaya is awesome and she acted the # out of that character. I just tell the struggles of some stuff millennials go through. Once it start I thought it was like just whining but then you feel for the character and get interested.

I will be watching the next episode.

I say, since I actually watched it and it deals with corrupt Boston cops in the early 1990's.

Not everything is puppies, crayons and mommy's safe little basement, there's bad people out there.

There's nothing wrong with some risque films/series. There honestly isn't much that I couldn't watch, but it has to at least be entertaining and somewhat "unavoidable" if given the certain tone/direction of a show. Banshee, for example, was great. I know a lot of people that didn't like it.

Now, that said, when it's done purely to shock(usually as the sole source of "creativity" in a show) or just pander to some basic lowest common denominator of viewer(politics is the worst on that one). Then it's just pure cringe.

So I grabbed and watched about half of this episode of this new show. I bounced around, listened to some dialog, got the general gist of the episode and of course checked out the "controversial" scenes.

Now, maybe I'm old, but I'm feeling that this is some pretty hard core pandering to teens/tweens about what they "think" their life is like, unless they wanted to cram every piece of a high school kids drama into one night, the pacing just seemed ridiculous.

Honestly, the only thing that seemed real to me was the awful music that kids listen to, that was spot on(hardest thing to watch in this).

Yes there are, luckily they put a lot of time, effort and money into making entertainment for the rest of us. To only get a glimpse at just a fraction of their depravity.

Well GOT is done, I am done with HBO. The wife asked me to dump it because of Euphoria and the whole expense for largely crap these days. GOT aside, nothing has really been that good but maybe Westworld. I will stick to Baseball for now anyway. Several good Soccer Clubs too. 80 something days till Football! I can survive on the History channel and maybe laugh at some comedy till fall.

Yes, glorifying oversexualization and exploitation of youth while at the same time promoting degeneracy is evil.

Well when you put it that way, I think we can all agree it is bad. Evil is an opinion shared by some with you. I am going to say it sure is icky and that can't be Saintly.

OK I say my good Augustus, I must ask, would it be too much to hold off on the appearance of penis penetration to youthful young males?

That would be over the top for my family's taste in getting a historical fact.

I caution you, I sought and did watch porno's in my youth as a right of passage and my favorite was Caligula by Penthouse and I have no legal leg to argue upon.

However as a father and husband I have new concerns that were far from Caligula watching . Yes, my children are shielded a bit if I do this. I pick my battles as best as I see fit based on my best data.

What planet are you living on if you think 'youthful young males' haven't discovered Youporn?

As for the rest, there's this thing called 'parental controls', you can block channels and programs if you're so inclined.

You know, I am saying it is both some kind of poison to kids and that I have to agree with you too. So, since I really don't like 99% of what they put out there new (HBO GO has a lot to offer btw), I am going to quit HBO. Happy wife happy life is a good motto too.

How do the kids watch it if there is active parenting? The TV is not responsible for raising your children.

Back to my 99% crap comment, and I will hold pat there.

Yes, I CAN use parental controls but my kids are college age. I don't have to buy stuff if I don't like it is my point. You are indeed a reasonable person in this matter. I am ready to shut down the HBO experiment here. You are not. What about those damn Yankees? Time to enjoy the Cubs, the Braves the Dodgers and Astro's there is some great baseball ahead with those clubs.

Then they're adults and they can watch what they want.
