Hopefully NEVER. War should always be the very last resort. If you want war there's nothing stopping you from picking up a gun and going to Iran right now!

Actually, yes, there's a lot stopping him. America's customs, first of all, wouldn't allow someone to leave to Iran with any firearms because we have significant trade restrictions on those items in place with that country and have since GWB deemed them an "Axis of Evil" and strengthened laws regulating what could be transported from the US to Iran. Second, www.iraneconomics.net... Iran, itself wouldn't allow someone entry into the country while armed and it is nigh unto impossible for a resident to obtain permission there, let alone a foreigner. So your premise fails... the only way we're going to scratch that itch is for Uncle Sam to send over troops cocked, locked, and ready to rock... at least until Blackwater gets involved, and then the possibilities for scratching soar.

Iran is "days" away from exceeding the uranium stockpile limit outlined in the 2015 deal.

trump pulled us out of that deal, to great celebration from the majority here at ATS... So neither you nor I or anybody here on ATS can cry about Irans nuclear stockpile.

Why do you keep thinking this will be a unilateral action by the USA ?

My trust for military conflict judgment against countries who haven't attacked us is near zero.

Fool me once and all of that. Been told many times a conflict would just be a few weeks, mostly bombing, and or swift CIA action.

Is the US military/government inherently evil and the world would be a better place without us ?

No long winded explanation please. Just keep it short and sweet .

The military is full of people willing to sacrifice themselves for their country.

Politicians of recent history have been bought and serve the interests of those who fund their campaigns. They also get to call the shots on how to use the military.

Recent events (past few decades) keep solidifying my stance on the above.

Oh I forgot, you only do yes or no.

Scribble me down for yes because I don't want to send soldiers to countries who haven't attacked us and want to focus on our exponential national debt 👍

I think you get hung up on believing everything is to polarities. You'd be surprised if you saw me man. Beard toting, gun loving, liberty advocating, meat smoking transplanted Texan.

Just not afraid to speak my mind, and I sure as hell don't know what shame is unless I've done someone wrong.

No harm, no foul man. I get its a battle out there and people always thinkin your on my side or my oppenents... But it ain't always that way. 👍 cheers brother.

Pretty sure I knew your twin brother in Kentucky . He put up a full billboard in his front yard that said” get out of the UN “. Keep in mind that was in the early 80s . 😁

No worries here either .

The UN is (for the most part) a spineless entity that sucks funds, but they like the bureaucratic US, have done some positive stuff once in a while.

We all agree the US is ripe with corruption and politicians who are to devout to one tribe.... We just argue on where that line is drawn. I say both parties breed poison with very rare exceptions. Foreign policy is just the bane of both.

Almost all of us aredevoted to one tribe. It’s called the mulla mulla tribe .

You’ve got a lot of valid complaints.

How would you fix things ?

BTW

I do like yes or no questions to start things off.

That way people know exactly where each other stands .

When someone is put on record then changes their position.

They’re not worth talking to .

I want to start here, though it was the last part of your post. Yes or no limits peoples options, it's like a litness test based on multiple choice. Could you gauge someone of multiple choice? Sure, but it would leave put the nuance. Things are rarely black or white, and are uncommon to be a, b, c, or d.

This one wooshed over my head, if you don't mind elaborating.

I don't, we do. Almost sounds socialist Eh (to play on our socialist neighbor).

There is a balance of individualism that is the basis of our core as a nation, the freedom and liberty to be unique while as a whole determining our destiny.

We the people. A term often shadowed by special interests, from all sides. No one will disagree that specific interests seek equity, not equality.

Salvation is in reverting. Concervatism if you'd like. Going back to our roots and celebrating the questioning of those in power.

No it limits the evasiveness of people that have no true position . If you don’t have a stance you don’t have anything worth listening to .

Mulla Mulla AKA cash.

I don't, we do. Almost sounds socialist Eh (to play on our socialist neighbor).

So you don’t know a way to fix it. At least you’re not alone there neither do I .

Things might be bad right now but keep in mind it can get worse.

Your distain for corruption and power in politics.

Means you haven’t been satisfied with our government for 244 years .

Think you were quoting Gen Wesley Clark.
If Bush were in power I would say we will definitely go to war with Iran.
Trump on the other hand is entirely different player. I think Trump is a high stakes gambler and enjoys making people think he's stupid. One of the problems that could escalate a war is if he's being fed bad intel.

On the flip side 'War' is highly profitable.

Whom ever attacked those two tanker ships was a piss poor foolish action.
Lets hope Pompeo, Bolton, and the CIA do not 'eff up the plan with a Gulf of Tonkin FF attack.

I'm more concerned with Trump's economic tariff war on China. If not resolved right soon the implications of that could be far more devastating to all of us, at home.

This one is going to bug you, I'm about to dance.

My favorite sanctuary is Virginia. It's gorgeous here, and in the mountainous part it is sublime.

We have a dispute with West Virginia that John Denver's "take me home, country roads", was it about west Virginia or the west part of Virginia? The shenandoah river would make one inclined to believe Virginia as that river glances WV.

But alas, deeper digging shows the song curators were singing about Maryland to begin with, but it didn't fit the rythym.

So here we are, two states disputing one quasi adopting the song as their state anthem.

And me, I know that. Yet when I flew into the Blue Ridge going over West Virginia while sipping scotch.... That song played through my head like an anthem. I saw the absolute glory of the roaring ridges and I had no shame a grown man tearing at the eyes because of the glory before me.

I knew the song was a fabricated lie to play at my heart stings, but I don't care, because Gdamit- it's beautiful.

That's my long drawn out dance man. Nothing is black and white, and I can still love Christmas as an agnostic because it's something beautiful that brings people together and makes them feel warm.

Hey...a short message from your neighbors to the North.....you have 2 choices.....#1 get your NRA to spend some serious money investing via donations in Canadian struggles to shed Governments illegal gun control laws....by SUING THEM...yes a WarCgest big enough to litigate the Provinces for colluding together to abrogate Federal Legeslations by forming a adhoc group of "Provincial Firearms Officers" whose primary mandate is to in a collusionary illegal manner DENY almost all requests for Handgun permits....when Federal Law clearly states and with more clarity than American gun law legeslations by the way is that ALL CANADIANS HAVE A RIGHT TO BUY OWN AND CARRY CONCEALED HANDGUNS...with no more red tape than buying a shotgun..... you best put together an A-Team to get on this issue right away....its doable...challenge this collusion and open up Canadas gun laws legally...….because.....anyone coming to kick your asses is going to come through Canada first..... the more guns Canadians have the more support America has.....and as a sweetener the crooked plicks who have conspired to disarm Canadians from the inside can take a flying puck.

Oh yes....choice number two is to leave your six WIDE OPEN...….don't think this issue is not relevant right now.....remember what Happened to the the Coventry and the Broadsword....

Iran is stupid ... or insane.

The link outlines that the Iranians have all kinds of internal issues, but if they are ruled by the kinds of religious fanatics that took control after the Revolution, then they may very well be truly nuts.

This move on their part honestly alienates everyone who might have gone to bat for them. As I said, the US doesn't need the oil that moves through the straight. Most of it goes to Asia. Iran would be looking at places like China and Japan to cover for them, but they're now alienating people who buy the product they're threatening.

Iran wants to expand their territory all the way to the Mediterranean and control the entire region. That threatens Russia, another potential cover ally, who just got things settled in Syria to their liking defending their base access there.

Understand that Bolton is meeting with both Israel and Russia about Iran here in the upcoming weeks. That's sort of unprecedented because Russia usually lets Iran do what it wants, but that tells you that Iran is pushing Putin's buttons a bit too now.

By doing this, Iran is isolating itself. So why?
