most of those things are considered basic rights outside of the US. You could say exactly the same about just about any EU country, Japan, Israel, South Africa, and at least half of South America.

Essetially, your saying that most first world countries are the equivelant of the USSR?

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness?

I'm sure that I've heard that somewhere before.

Somehow, the us-american republican definition of "socialism" would be kind of interesting for me to read about.

Most define it as an illusion of free stuff that's actually paid for by the middle class through taxes.

I spent over 30 years living under socialism. its a lot better than fox news makes it sound. Most taxes are paid by the wealthy elite (people like Hillary Clinton, and her Hollywood cronies), who get their money from exploiting the poor.

The middle classes tend to benefit through things like affordable education and child care. I went to college on socialism. Not free, but heavily subsidized. Many hundreds of my classmates were lower middle class, who would have struggled to afford college otherwise and may not have gone at all.

Now they have graduated and they make more money because of their college educations, so they pay back into the system that supported them.

Socialism also means better services for veterans. there were almost no homeless veterans in that country.

The dental plan was great, too. I've never had a dental plan like it. Middle class kids get braces for free or for very little money if they want extras. If amaerica had a dental plan like it even poor children would have wonderful smiles.

Really just about any Capitalism is better than the crazy Green New Deal. But let’s talk about what you think Capitalist Fascism
Actually is ???
Let’s see what Mises says about Fascism

The state, for the fascist, is the instrument by which the people’s common destiny is realized, and in which the potential for greatness is to be found. Individual rights, and the individual himself, are strictly subordinate to the state’s great and glorious goals for the nation. In foreign affairs, the fascist attitude is reflected in a belligerent chauvinism, a contempt for other peoples, and a society-wide reverence for soldiers and the martial virtues

mises.org...
So which one is more fascist ... Trump or Sanders ?

So people like Hillary paid for it and did they have any of their own wealth left? Nancy Oelosi talks a good game on socialist programs, but I don’t see her paying up voluntarily. What is/ was the corporate tax rate in that country and what was the tax rate for individuals. Here the radicals are talking 90%. Arevyou tealkybfir having 90 % of your pay confiscated so that illegals jumping the border can have free benefits? That is just insane and I don’t believe any sane normal
Person really agrees to it unless they are on the receiving end of the deal. The Green New Deal being proposed by Progressives is not realistic and is mostly a redistribution plan disguised by a Green Mask to use Rosa Koires metaphor.

If you're just going to mine for bad times in a Soviet state we can be here all day pointing put poor living conditions in the states through put history as well.

You should watch a documentary called "the weight of chains". It might give some insight to what the world was doing to Soviet and socialist states.

Anything that will address wealth inequality in this country is a good thing. There's nothing stopping the greedy billionaires from turning everyone into economic slaves.

And

The numbers don't lie, we have too many cartels and monopolies

We have too much price fixing going on in this country. We already have a single party soviet style government it's just that the communism we have in this country is NOT the kind of communism that is in the workers favor!!!

Wealth inequality does exist....but there are also a large number of people who just will never work a d still complain they don't Make enough

Bro, listen up. Ultra capitalism. A handful of very lucky people are going to become extremely rich either via being born in a family that is already rich, divorcing the richest man in the world and becoming the richest woman in the existence of Mankind, or being genetically perfect and talented, which enables you to be the world's greatest soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

But most people in America, the land of the free and the land of Milk and honey?

Nearly 80 percent of American workers (78 percent) say they’re living paycheck to paycheck, according to a 2017 report by employment website CareerBuilder. Women are particularly vulnerable: 81 percent of them report living paycheck to paycheck, compared with 75 percent of men.

www.cnbc.com...

No, bro, this isn't the fooking 70s when my grandfather owned a 4 bedroom house with 3 bathrooms, one sports car, was the breadwinner of his family and still had enough money to go to Disneyworld every year on a high school education working in a fooking Lumber mill.

These days you need to go to college and get yourself in massive debt just to barely get a job and keep a job, and enjoy your tiny 1bedroom apt. that you're wasting rent money on only to have to go back to living with your parents because of the never-stabilized economy.

Good luck starting a family like that too.

Last time I checked, Democrats voted on the Patriot Act along with Republicans, and even Joe Biden claimed to have been responsible for its predecessor The Omnibus Counterterrorism Act of 1995, claiming it was virtually a duplicate en.m.wikipedia.org...

5] Both bills were never put to a vote, although a significantly altered version of the House bill became law as the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996.[6][7] Joe Biden has said that the 2001 USAPATRIOT Act is essentially a duplicate of his 1995 bill.[8]

So please don’t try and tell me that Democrats are somehow better. Democrats are just as Statist and Draconian as any GOP. By the way I don’t support the Bush dynasty or cabal on either side of the aisle.

Reagan war on communism, war on drugs, Bush Sr, starting a whole lot of war in the ME, Bush Jr, just continuing his fathers legacy, Trump, trade wars, continuing what Reagan couldn't finish.

I know this is a conspiracy theorist forum, but it seems within' the last 60 years republican parties have been pushing for some sort of agenda and using 'national security' as the excuse.

Reagan did fight against communism. Only people who don’t understand how many millions were killed and put in gulags under communism would argue against the wisdom of that, unless one is a die hard hard communist who agrees with such communist policies ... you know like maybe Anita Dunn when she spoke on behalf of the Obama admin how great Mao was.

Old argument ... how many people has the US intentionally killed since WW2?

People die from both sides of what ever spectrum blaming 'communism' for the deaths of millions is an arbitrary fact on history.

There is no need to mine, socialism failed in the USSR like it has every place in the world it has been used, for the exact same reason, the money will run dry.

Socialism has failed? Really?

So lets take a socialist idea and put into your mind for a second. Workers unions for example. Are they good or bad? What can we take from unions, there's negatives and positives.

Why did it take massive amounts of workers to unionize against capitalist to get basic worker rights which later became the norm to protect ALL citizens whether they were unionized or not.

Capitalism isn't perfect, and end game communism is some sort of star trek pipe dream.

But the question then becomes, where does capitalism go from here?

Unions are a horrible corrupt thing that creates division. A system like a rights council where workers and employers work together in a capitalist fashion to the benefit of all is a far superior system. Unfortunately corrupt unions make that impossible, literally, they got legislation passed to prevent it.

Unions are the reason why you have councils for workers right.

The labor party in the UK hasn't been a dominant force for no reason. You honestly think free enterprise will take the side of the worker? Capitalist don't care about the workers, their end game goal is to cut out all middle men, all workers, so it's literally just them and the consumer for max profits with as little work involved.

Ahh no, Unions are why we don't. They made it illegal in the US for councils unless you join a union first. You have to pay into a Union before you can have a council, they can't let that juicy union dues disappear from their greedy little digits.
