Bernie reminds me a lot like FDR as well...

FDR set out to remove all private ownership of gold and then limited firearm ownership so that the first time in American history the government had access to more superior firearms than the people could purchase.

Eminent Domained entire towns and flooded them out as part of the TVA project leaving people homeless, jobless and in worse shape than they already were during the Great Depression.

Held back US and other allied troops in WW2 so Russia could take Berlin for the bragging rights which caused much death and suffering not just in the Jewish camps but among the German civilian population, not counting that little thing called the Berlin Wall that separated families for generations. And wouldn’t have peace talks with Japan until we could nuke them twice.

Yep, reminds me a whole, whole lot like FDR.

The problem with bernie is either he is really dumb or he is full of sh1t.

He is going about it all wrong from the start . You cant give a corrupted system more money or power and expect it to fix YOUR problems. Its like giving the mob more money and power and expecting them to fix crime.

If he was sincere and had a brain he would focus FIRST on getting conflict of interest out of the people that are making the decisions as much as possible. Instead he is pandering to the people much like Creepy joe with finding the cure for cancer if elected.

Anyone who is serious about socialist type orograms need to STFU about it for the time being and fix the conflict of interest in congress FIRST. They should be only talking about and focing on things such as:

Term limits
Closing revolving doors in dc between private and govt
Lobbying reform
Insider trading
True transparency
Campaign funding

Implement those changes then you earn the right to talk about socialist programs, until then stfu about it unless you are mentally challenged.

You left out the part where to make his plan work FDR had African Americans segregated into ghettos and cut them off from the rest of his society which impacted their economic opportunities for decades to come. Bernie and his bros are attempting to do the same thing but to rural, conservative America. Why do you think they are espousing populist agendas like abolishing the electoral college when that in actuality goes against their ideology? Because if they achieved that then all the resources and power would be voted to the most populated centers where they hold all the control and power.

The real issue here is not that there are billionaires, but rather opportunity for upward mobility is being hindered by both sides. Previous outcomes are irrelevant unless, of course, they are using that wealth as a resource to hinder opportunity -- which in some cases is true and should be corrected. One way they counterintuitively achieve this is through regulation that prevents smaller competitors from competing with them. Why do you think the tech industry and people like Mark Zuckerberg are begging to be regulated right now? You think it is because The Zuck is just a good guy that wants the world to be fair for everyone? Give me a break. He sees the growing resentment against him and wants to stifle any alternatives to his empire that might knock him from the top of the hill.

I'm motivated to make enough money by December so that I can take a few name tags off the Salvation Army Angel Tree, while also having some material things for myself along the way. Think about it:

If corporations are entitled to personhood, that means that a hostile takeover could be considered slavery and ultimately murder. Why wouldn't it be?

In this country, we have too much power and influence is concentrated in too few hands. At some point it will be time to respond to the economic tyranny of the billionaires. Maybe it's time to return to FDR level tax rates.

Is it me or does anyone else notice that these things are only proposed when there is no way to pass them. When Democrats have the House, Senate and Presidency you will never hear about things like "Green New Deal", "Economic Bill of Rights", Medicare for All, $15 minimum wage. Democrats only talk like this when they don't have the power to impose these ideas. Why is that? Is it because they themselves don't want these things because it will upset their elite puppet masters but at the same time understand the power of the Mob and must play lip service to them. Kinda like Republicans who ran on repealing Obamacare but when time came for a vote just enough Republicans caved to keep it going. Its not that Democrats love Obamacare, they see how its destroying working class families with crazy premiums deductibles making to where you have health insurance but it doesn't cover anything and you can't afford to use it. And its not like Republicans really want to repeal it because it was their puppet masters that master minded the law. When Democrats are in power Republicans introduce bill after bill that many conservatives champion but never get passed because they don't have power. When Republicans are in power Democrats propose bill after bill that liberals would champion but they don't have the power to get it passed. And if power is gained in all branches of government its rarely held longer then a 2 year term. Because the same people that voted in a Republican President turn around and vote in a Democrat congressman and vice versa making the balance of power off. Yet! at the same time you get all these other bills that are passed the news never covers that effect commerce, banking, trade, finance that effect all Americans and most are unaware that it exist, democrats are republicans never disagree when it benefits the ultra elite, big banks, Wall Street, and large corporations they always find time and compromise to make it work. Its all Political Theater to keep you distracted to make you think you have a voice or a chance to make a difference when in reality its all for show and nothing you champion will ever get passed because its that very issue that you champion that allows them to run for political office and divide us into voting for whoever the elites want in power.
