With wealth inequality at all time highs. I like what Bernie is advocating:

"Sanders, like FDR, proposed an Economic Bill of Rights, including the rights to health care, affordable housing, education, a living wage and retirement."

“Economic rights are human rights,” Sanders declared. “That is what I mean by democratic socialism.”

Bernie reminds me of FDR who said in the 1936 National Democrat Convention speech:


"An old English judge once said: 'Necessitous men are not free men.' Liberty requires opportunity to make a living - a living decent according to the standard of the time, a living which gives man not only enough to live by, but something to live for.

For too many of us the political equality we once had won was meaningless in the face of economic inequality. A small group had concentrated into their own hands an almost complete control over other people's property, other people's money, other people's labor - other people's lives. For too many of us life was no longer free; liberty no longer real; men could no longer follow the pursuit of happiness.

Against economic tyranny such as this, the American citizen could appeal only to the organized power of government."

In this country, we have too much power and influence is concentrated in too few hands. At some point it will be time to respond to the economic tyranny of the billionaires. Maybe it's time to return to FDR level tax rates.

I'd like to see a 30 percent instant raise for everyone that makes less than 100K a year.

It can be done, by eliminating all federal and state income taxes. Tax everyone over 100K at 50 percent and anyone over 200K at 90 percent(which would be pretty much all politicians at that point, including big money bernie).

I know, it's absolutely crazy. What politician would do the job of serving the public and not take a dime for it........other than Trump.

The right to a decent job that pays a living wage

The right to quality health care

The right to a complete education

The right to affordable housing

The right to a clean environment

The right to a secure retirement


These aren't basic enough to be "rights". They just don't make sense in that context.

They might all be things our society and government should strive to achieve; but that doesn't make them "rights".

"The right to bare arms" means you get to have a gun.

What does "The right to a clean environment" mean exactly? The issue of a clean environment is a very complex issue; with intricate sets of solutions. And even people of good faith on the subject can have very different opinions on how to achieve and maintain a clean environment. It simply does not work as a "right".

And that's where Sanders's proposal falls a part. He is trying to boil very complex issues down into sound bites. What he should be doing is proposing sets of concrete solutions; along with ROI, Risk, and Cost analysis on those solutions.

Congress would immediately vote for a wage reduction for themselves down to $99,999.99 a year (plus increased tax free stipends for expenses) 💥🤣💥

Wealth inequality is people who do not want to work, save, make uncommon sacrifices to better themselves for the long haul by and large.

Amazing how I was dirt poor but somehow managed to join the military, EARN an education, graduate in a field that pays, get a job, work myself up and EARN upper middle class status.

Almost anyone can do this easily. They do not want to work for it. They want it handed to them and their ass wiped for them.
It is morally bankrupt when able bodied people CHOOSE to be fat and lazy and not want to EARN something. It is a disease.

Bernie got kicked out of a commune for not doing any work. Then he became a lifelong politician. Why in the hell would I believe any of his ideas on the economy when he's been riding on the work of other people for his entire life?

I think that stats to work paradoxically at some point.

For example if you made around 80k that instant 30% raise would put you just over 100k. Than the 50% tax would than drop you down to 50k.

I bet we could find a raise/tax formula that would effectively make everyone have the same take home income. We can call this new way of doing things communism.

This could all be avoided if we just put a cap on corporate earnings. As i see it, the biggest problem is that corporations charge too much for their products and services. Cap their product prices, cap their bonuses, stop allowing them to buy favors from politicians, remove their status that allows them to be treated like a citizen.


Also, movie stars, music stars, and sports stars get paid too much. Cap that # too. Movies will be cheaper if actors aren’t making 50 mil a movie. Show and sports tx don’t need to be $600 for any real reason.

Can you imagine the bloat!

For every one of those freebies, the bureaucratic system required to implement and manage it, would be enormous. And, imagine the opportunities for corruption. Just visit the Justice Department's website or Twitter and be blown away by the prosecution of Medicare fraud and other government program abuse!

The weight of this ridiculousness would crush us in more ways than one. But, maybe that's their plan.

If you give everyone free money, the price for products will just go up. It would be better to drop the prices for products. We don’t need thousands of trillionaires.

How much money does Geico spend on advertising every year. That money could be put directly back into peoples pockets. How much money does old spice spend on those funny commercials? Why does it cost millions of dollars to run A single ad during the Super Bowl? It certainly doesn’t cost that much to run that ad. This is how billionaires move their money around. This is how they buy favors from each other.

Medical Drugs would be cheaper and they would work better if they were sold on their merits, Instead of the companies hiring lobbyists to pay politicians millions of dollars to able to sell their drugs that are killing people instead of helping them.

The problem isn’t that people don’t make enough money, it’s that the prices of products and services has risen artificially because corporations have been let off their leashes in the last 10 to 20 years

Have you ever considered that being motivated by money and material things, and putting that above human brotherhood, might be a disease?
