New York lawmakers introduced legislation to legalize sex work in the state of New York on Monday.
The legislation, titled Stop Violence in the Sex Trade Acts, covers a variety of topics related to sex work. Lawmakers say that the bill would decriminalize sex work and guard against human trafficking within the sex working industry, according to The Hill.

Now I think this is a good idea. I mean, "My body, my choice" amirite?

This is the perfect example of individuality. If women (and men) want to use their own bodies to make money, then why shouldn't they?

I think this is one topic that we can all agree on, but it's in the 'Pit because people are people, after all. . . . .

To be fair, once prostitution goes legal it tends to cut pimps out of the equation.

What two consenting adults do with their meat vehicles isn't really the business of anyone else.... Except the IRS, which is why there is an issue. Enact the taint tax.

I don't have an issue with it.

There is no logical reason that it is illegal at this point.

If you pay a woman to have sex on film, then it is legal porn.

If you take a woman for steak and lobster and she rewards you afterwards, it is called a good date.

If you just want to pay a woman for sex and never hear from her again, it is prostitution and illegal.

I tell you what, legal prositution will fix the minimum wage problem....

I can see it now. Little girls at the age of consent being pimped out against their own will.

I lived in couple of places that prostitution was legal. I actually think this might help prevent child abuse.
When prostitution is legal there will actually be more protections for the workers.

Of course there will always be people that are being abused, but that happens illegally now, some say maybe even
at epidemic levels.

So you cool with a lady or man using what they have to make money. And I would assume you want the gubment to stay out.
But at the same time you want the gubment to step in and control someone that wants an abortion.
What a trip you are man.

Just gonna point out every comment is directed towards women being the prostitute. You do know theres plenty if not just as many Male prostitutes as well right?

Just goes to show how the tone towards women when it comes to sex related subjects.

You can see it now, because it is a ramification of sending prostitution underground.

You may not be able to see it as much once it is legal, and pimps are put out of business.

Illegal prostitution is simply a minority imposing their moral standards on others.

Legalise prostitution.
Reduce sex crimes.
Take people off benefits and turn into tax payers.
Regular check up's = less sexually transmitted diseases.
And it reduces associated crime like pimping and also reduces policing costs that can be diverted towards fighting other crimes.
Fewer people going to jail, less of a burden on the judicial system and less of a burden to the tax payer.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would oppose such a move other than a desire to impose their own morals on others.

Coal miners are typically referred to as men when spoken about broadly, there are female coal miners so what gives?

To tie that into this topic, they also exchange their body as a resource for money, and I say that with no negative connotation, just an observation as to how we view similar things so differently.

I knew that within the first page of the thread someone would virtue signal about this.

Fact is that the vast majority of prostitutes are women.

There is a simple reason and it is called nature.

If I need a guy over for the night I make a call.

I'm sure as hell not going to be paying for the night.

There isn't any reason for me to.

I also demand being made a decent breakfast the next day or no more calls for you!

Simple supply and demand...

I've always wanted to smack a *****...gangster rap said I could.

So, does this mean that they will have pay taxes in order to have cops be the new pimp? Just like they used to do... illegally.

Isn't it interesting that a lot of the "women's groups" who would oppose legalize prostitution tend to also be of the political persuasion that uses that same logic when advocating legalizing drugs....
