LOL...Too heavy and big... One of the biggest helicopters in the world, the CH-53 can do a loop.

I have heard but cannot verify that the CH-53E flown by the US Navy and Marines can do the "loop".
I would love to see that.

Yes you are correct, a CH-53 CAN do a loop, and here is a very old video of it.

media.putfile.com...

For the record, the Lynx helicopter is NOT the first to do a loop. I'm not sure what helicopter was, but all I know is this CH-53 is older than a Lynx. My favorite looping helicopter is the MD600N. N is for NOTAR, meaning No Tail Rotor.

I've witnessed an AH-64 do a loop, in person. It was during the 1995 Fort Bragg/Pope AFB, NC open house.

A AH-64A or D model can do a back flip and a barrel roll, it is a non standard manuver due to the stress that is put on the rotor system and the airframe. The 64D with the "dome" on it cannot, because it weighs an additional 400lbs. I know plenty of pilots who have done the manuver but you will not find alot of video of it due to evidence.
