Check out Loveland, Castle...built, stone-by-stone, over decades by an old man living alone in the woods of southern Ohio.

GNight Star joins the party

Well, there are magical creatures, of course I would show up.

Did you say party? It's in the garden isn't it? Hope they have good food and booze.

Bishop Castle

OMG, I have a passion for castles!
Here's our Shed castle dining room.
If anyone goes metal detecting in the Shedlands, perhaps you can help find a lost broach of mine.

They are really cool people! What I found fun is when people in the valley found out about it local artists and craftsmen pitched in and started adding things.

Like not far from there on the road lightning struck a tree. It's still standing but had a large burn down one side of it.

Not too long after, some guy showed up and started carving.

Now there is a beautiful 4 foot tall owl carved into the tree.

Then someone else added some solar garden lights....

The place is a constant work in progress.

🙂

My grandfather's farm, which I used to visit once in a while when I was a kid, was bought by some company that turned it into a kind of "Lord of the Rings" tribute/hotel, so places I used to sled or the creek where I fished for trout are all LotR'd out with Hobbit houses and funky little bridges, and all kinds of Hobbity stuff.

That's what happens. Hobbit infestations.

Ah look at the little gnome house.

Looks like a one gnome house. But were there's one gnome there is bound to be others, like wolfs they run in packs. Keep them away from your meed, and your car, they party hardy if you know what I mean, there bound to get a little rambunctious.

When gnomes attack.

They did exactly that.

Not quite like the big white farmhouse with the big porch that my grandparents lived in.
