Conservatives want the status quo.. by definition..

Conservatism: uphold the traditions of the past or bring back a bygone era instead of new social change..

“Make America great AGAIN”

Obama’s “ hope and CHANGE”..

Conservatives by definition are never proposing anything new..

Hmm.... Interesting Commentary there . Would it be Beyond Belief to you if President Trump Ran for Reelection as an Independent Candidate by forming a " New Political Party " Before Nov. 2020 ? Your Thoughts ?

I think you're partially right. Trump isn't a Republican, and has no loyalty to anything or anyone but himself. Including political parties. While that can be a good thing, we're talking about Donald freakin' Trump here.

"I don't stand by anything." -Donald J. Trump

That's the only time I've ever heard him tell the truth.

lol. Reminds me of Scarface. "I always tell the truth, even when I lie".

There hasn't been a "wall" built yet.

Oh, yes there has. One section is complete at least, probably more.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Between the courts halting the construction and the prototypes not being up to Border patrol standards

Gee, you missed another one!
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Lawsuit dismissed, clearing the final hurdle for construction, and the Border Patrol were the ones who recommended the present bollard design.

he hasnt even installed the amount of fence Obama installed in his first year in office.

So it was never a lie? You admit the entire holdup was due to the Democrats?

Well, thank you for that at least.

But hey, wall, fence. Potatoe potato. Put some stakes in the ground with some wire between them and his supporters will scream about "winning".

It's a little more substantial than stakes in the ground and wire between them.
Washington Examiner, October 26, 2018:

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Friday unveiled the first completed border wall project that was constructed as a result of President Trump’s push to further secure the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Walls work, it’s not my opinion," Nielsen said at the ceremony near downtown Calexico, a rural border town of approximately 38,000 residents. "It’s not a tag line. It’s a fact."

Construction of the 30-foot, 2.5-mile-long wall began in February and lasted eight months. Nielsen watched as welders affixed a sign to the wall to commemorate the event. It's now the tallest barrier on the entire 2,000-mile-long southwest border.

See above.

Yes, see above.

Regean helped gut the social programs , I’m pretty sure..

What I think is hilarious is how unpopularhe was in office.. then how deified he is now..

He helped end some of the programs that didn't work.

And he was pretty damn popular back then. He won the election, twice. Maybe you should read actual history instead of those revisionist rags... or maybe listen to someone who was there?

Oh, and as for deification... nope, in hindsight he made some pretty big blunders. I think the biggest was giving amnesty to the illegal aliens in the country in exchange for a secure border; Congress politely reneged on their end of the bargain. That's why now we'll talk about immigration changes after there's a wall in place, not before.

I kind of doubt it, although it wouldn't change my vote if he did. I would vote for Trump if he suddenly switched to Democrat. He's a maverick, so party platforms are not an issue.

He'll likely stay with what worked. If he tried to start a new political party this soon before the election, he would put himself at a YUUUUGE disadvantage. Now, after he leaves office, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him either work to change the GOP from within or start a new party to replace the Democrats (since they're all but irrelevant after 2020).

You're wrong.

Your definition of "the status quo" needs to be defined.

The interview you are speaking of isn't available because it never existed. It didn't happen. I've had this argument over and over with my sister.
The interview that he supposedly said this was a People Magazine interview. It wasn't on video and the transcripts are available. He didn't say what you accuse him of. Even left leaning snopes has debunked this. Memory is a tricky thing. You remember it because you heard the accusation and your bias kicked in and you created the memory. It just didn't happen.

That wasn't the message though. I suppose those who disparage Trump will react this way, after all, with all the immensely good things Trump has already accomplished for this country, he has single handedly discredited and exposed the last three presidents as incompetent, negligent, dishonest towards all Americans, and worthless in what they promised compared to what they actually did do.

THUS exposing their allegiances to a cabal of like minded and very dirty participants, and Trump is calling them out and trashing all the work they tried to do. So, yeah, he should be given a different label. RINO works for me, but the OP never told you or anyone else to "be that way too", just a snapshot of reality for consideration and study is being given.

Trump doing all these things is most important though, and the RINO label is just a pointing tool in comparisons of actions and intents.

Trump has humiliated the idea of credibility that the last three globalist administrations wanted people to believe of them, and done so with total knockdown blows, and humiliating kicks to their collective figurative groins. This is the true reason they are so blatant in disregarding all morality in their current efforts and words in their"orange man bad" campaign.

Obama being the greatest disparity of immorality and dishonesty to what he did do, compared to what he told America he would do. Those who wanted Clinton, AKA Obama, feel just as humiliated as what Trump has done to the last three administrations simply because they have attached their mindset to those now totally discredited administrations. If that makes you mad or sad, it makes me glad and sad. Sad only that you are blind.

The wall is a pathetic boondoggle joke. Until real sanctions are enforced about hiring illegals, they will find a way in and work those jobs.
trump folded on the Mexicans tariffs because the GOP told him to. RINO lol...

www.rawstory.com...

The US is a corporate oligarchy and the MIC just mocks trump. He can't even put together a cohesive staff. They just threw Rudy under the bus, after he made a complete fool of himself on trumps behalf. No loyalty to anyone.

but trump is a master marketer salesman to his supporters.

lolz

You're funny.

It's the leftists, the socialists, the communists, the freedom-hating "progressives" that speak only when they have a consensus and march in ideological goose-step.

Your idea of diversity is having a relish tray with 2 kinds of "dip" while you burn books, tear down statues or torch vehicles.

Wow, that is an incredible amount of revisionist history starting with Reagan. Well actually starting with the south initially going Republican after Reagan... seeing as it was a good bunch of years earlier that the Republicans (Goldwater then Nixon) swooped in after the Civic Rights Act and appealed to the racist/religious Democratic whites in the South. Although Jimmy Carter was a southerner, he wasn't what the what the racist south remembered the Dems had once been. The Repubs had taken the reigns on that one. Reagan was mere JC backlash and Hollywood appeal. And in the end, under Reagan the rich got much richer and the poor got much poorer. He raised taxes, raised the debt, and grew government. And all that aside, the old senile caricature that was Reagan should have rotted in jail for treason (Iran-Contra).

It's weird that Repubs fall for Hollywood all-show types every time. Now it's Trump. Ego and party-before-country stands in the way of seeing what is behind the very thin (by all means transparent) curtain.

That American Dream is different for everyone, too. The American Dream is the freedom to succeed, and success is not the same for everyone. Success is "the ongoing achievement of worthwhile, pre-determined, personal goals." The "personal" part means that no one can say what someone else's American Dream is, because that dream is success and success is personal. Some have money as their dream, lots and lots of money. Not me. As long as I can pay my bills and work on my projects, it is enough. Some see social acceptance as their dream; not me. I couldn't care less if my circle of friends is limited to a handful of people, as long as it's the right people. There are as many versions of the American Dream as there are Americans.

Good stuff dude , really.

Because, as I started this thread saying, Donald Trump is not a classic Republican. In fact, he is more of an Independent than anything... he was a registered Democrat, then a third-party supporter (Reform Party), and now he is registered as a Republican. That's far from being a lifelong, dyed-in-the-wool Republican!

No, he's a RINO... an infiltrator into the Republican Party.

Agreed.
Some of us have been saying this from day one. Trump has changed the republican party.

In fact the reality today is that both major political parties in the united states have changed drastically. I will say the left has changed more than the right. I'm not going to argue on whether I agree with any of those changes. Not in this thread.

It seems to me that most of the complaints against Trump are complaints against his party affiliation

I have wondered what people would be saying about trump if he'd won as an independent.

I believe he would have run as one had he believed he would win. Instead he was smart enough to know that in america if your not in one of the two main party's you wont get the votes.
