The Hungarian government is considering canceling their lease of 14 Jas 39 Gripen fighters, and replacing them with either F-16Vs or F-35s. The Swedish government has been attacking Hungary over its perceived lack of feminism, resistance to political correctness and multiculturalism. Swedish Social Minister Annika Strandhäll said that the Hungarian family policy for tax breaks "reeked of the 1930s". The Prime Minister of Sweden has threatened to strangle EU support to Hungary and Poland because they won't accept refugees. Losing the deal would cost Sweden thousands of job opportunities and billions of kronor.

The Swedish government has unleashed a series of attacks against Hungary over its resistance to multiculturalism, perceived lack of feminism, and political correctness.

Hungary is considering scrapping its lease agreement for Jas 39 Gripen and replacing the 14 Swedish fighter jets with US-made F-35, which may cost Sweden billions of kronor and thousands of job opportunities, the Swedish news outlet Fria Tider reported.

The bilateral lease agreement is now at stake over Sweden's "constant smear campaign" against the Hungarian government. Specifically, Hungary is considering replacing the lease agreement with a $1 billion deal with US firm Lockheed Martin. The choice is between the latest model of the F-16 or the fifth generation F-35. Sweden's future on the Hungarian defence market currently looks gloomy.

Is this the same Sweden who's multiculturalism is causing women to be raped? Allowing female mutilation and women to be treated as property?

Sounds like a win for the US and Hungary to me. We get to sell more planes and Hungary gets to keep making their own laws.

Sweden is on a downhill slope with an avalanche closing in on them. I don't think they will make it much longer. They will start to see a strain on their socialistic society, and they can't afford to lose any other country's investments.

Hungary is, last time I checked, a sovereign and independent nation. Good for them if they tell Sweden where to head in, and what to do with themselves when they get there.

Hungary and Poland have been under fire for their lack of "hospitality" the past few years now. Again, good for them.

I'm sorry that some Swedish airplane builders could be out of job, but they'll have no one to blame but their own govt.

Do those Swedish government officials choose who comes into their own home, or can anyone come and go as they please? Locking your doors to keep people out reeks of the 1930s.

This is actually what pisses me off about America, I hate when we tell another country how they need to govern themselves.

Those oh so generous govt. officials have bodyguards, and security--may even live in gated communities--they'll never see those refugees unless they need some for a photo-op.

What stinks about this whole thing is Europe accepted Hungary and Poland into the EU, they happily took money from the EU to help rebuild after years of neglect by Russia, both Hungary and Poland also flooded Europe with eastern European immigrants because of the EU's open boarders policy, then when the EU decide to take in more immigrants from outside the EU, these eastern European countries said no they don't want them in their countries. If you want to join the EU, you except it's terms, laws and parliament, warts and all. Thats why Great Britian voted to leave.
This is Hungary taking a swipe at Sweden. Both Hungary and Poland are becoming more isolationist, which can't happen when they are members of the EU and happy to take the Europeans money in grants and such. I may not agree with the EU but these countries asked to join it, so should follow the rules made by the European parliament or leave, and see how long there independence to buy European or American lasts against Russian interference.

Yet another case of "get woke, go broke." Hopefully Sweden isn't dumb enough to F-UP their TX deal with Boeing.

Yes, how dare they disagree with the EU. Ungrateful whelps.

How dare they don't want the issues that unlimited, unsanctioned immigration will have on their national interests. How dare they!!

I see you didn't comment on these Eastern European countries wanting to join the EU and it's rules and regulations, excepting grants as part of that deal?
I voted to leave the EU, but both Poland and Hungary wanted in on the EU and joined willingly and so should follow the rules set by all member states, it is what they originally agreed too, so yes they are ungrateful whelps as you put it, seeing as they flooded Europe with there own mass immigration whilst complaining about immigration into there own countries. Plus the Gripen isn't a bad aircraft for there needs.

So membership in the EU means Hungarians cannot set their own internal tax policies about families with children without being compared to Nazis by other member states like Sweden? That sounds lovely.

I believe the complaint by Hungary was that they were initially recognized as one of the negatively affected nations with a high number of relocations over the same period, and were do relief. Instead the Council removed them as a benefactor, but added a requirement for them to take on an additional quota from the countries remaining listed as affected by an "emergency" flood of refugees.

So they're required to kowtow to the regs, irregardless of the damage it may cause their nation, or the people who live there?

No. It doesn't work that way. Hungary and Poland aren't in the wrong here...they've got their priorities exactly where they should be.

The EU is wrong, not Hungary or Poland.
