Now I know what everybody's gonna say - the Aztecs are extinct.

I'm not so sure:

They look pretty lively to me.

I guess the history books lied to me.

Some of the most Beautiful and haunting music I have ever heard. If only the Mexican people would disregard their Spanish European conquerors and embrace the Aztec sense of Heritage and Self empowerment. Things could be so different and then there would be no need for a wall between us. As well as a beacon of light for those struggling under repressive regimes plaguing the rest of South America. a reply to: halfoldman

Aztec isn't a race of people so much as it was a military alliance of several major indigenous peoples of that area.

Many people of Mexico have some percent of blood from these ancestors as the Nahua, Acolhua and Otomí (the major peoples of the Aztec nation) still exist although they have integrated into "Mexican" culture to varying degrees.

It's nice to see them celebrating the aztec cultural heritage though. It should be kept alive.

The Aztecs are alive and well. I've seen quite a few at powwows. I love watching them dance.
